friends, please pray for patience and calm for me - this morning has been unbelievably trying....i haven't had to take my anti-anxiety medicine in probably the last 9-12 months, but i had to take one today. now it's making me eat everything that isn't nailed down.

Lord, i pray, please let the rest of this day go better than this morning has....in Jesus' name, Amen.

Been praying :prayer:

28 years ago today, I became a mom for the first time. I'm a blessed lady.

I had a therapeutic massage for my fibro yesterday. Yikes - it felt more like torture. I'm not sure I will do that again, but I'll wait a couple of days before making up my mind.

Our son and daughter-in-law made it to Michigan last night. They are taking me back to Wisconsin tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a fun week!

Anyone out there having coffee with me this morning???

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to MI and WI to visit family. I had to take a vacation from my vacation! But it was nice to see my family, although we couldn't visit my grandparents (which was a primary reason for going) because my grandpa has shingles. Please pray for him - shingles is bad enough but when you're 90 it's almost a death sentence.

Of course, then again, as my grandpa kindly reminded me, almost anything is a death sentence when you're 90. He has such a sense of humor! ^_^

We are vipers because we point out to them their errors and they don't like it to even be suggested that something is in error. So, we are then being hateful when we point the error out. After all, aren't we suppose to be tolerant?

Sounds like you had a good time Beckie.

Would you guys keep me out of the general Lutheran forum for a while. Lux et whatever seems to hate me.
Don't let her bother you. She is young and on the defensive about everything that is conservative. She sounds like a flaming liberal hiding behind a Lutheran label. Hmmm......sounds like a lot of them on the main forum.........

That is hilarious!!!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

And sadly, so true!!!!!!!!

I am so tempted to link this on my facebook...but I'm not sure I really want to deal with the fallout...

But yes, it is true. We're the ones who are not acting Christian because we do not tolerate sin. Yeah.

Yes, well that attitude is why I don't leave this sub-forum anymore. Management seems to support their side too.

We've had downpours on and off all day today. Looks like I get to go play with the horses tomorrow! Can't wait!

Since it's the general forum, it's not like what they're saying is violating any rules, at least not any more than the things we say about them. It's a rather vitriolic forum sometimes but I'd rather have the ability to speak the truth than to have to muzzle myself because I don't want to listen what they say about me.

I hope it stays dry here long enough to prevent the major flooding they keep forecasting. We've been fortunate so far!

hi seajoy,

Does fibro strike suddenly and then go away? or is it pain all day?

It's painful all the time, but at times is much worse. Those are called "flares."

How are you, Matt? Have you been going to mid week Lenten services? I've only been able to go to one so far. We've had ice storms and such here.

I'm actually in Wisconsin right now, visiting my kids. I'll be speaking in their classrooms on Australia this week. Yikes!

Yesterday I had a discussion with my mom and aunt on services. My aunt is Catholic and my mom goes to a C&MA church. My aunt was asking why their services are different and my mom was trying to explain contemporary worship to her to which I said "happy, clappy feel-good music". I mentioned how it wasn't theologically sound and she asked me to pull out a song as reference.

I said this one:

King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Glory, hallelujah
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Glory, hallelujah
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Glory, hallelujah

It really doesn't even mention Jesus until the tail end but it's so vague you could have Mormons, JW, etc singing it (even Jewish people).

She then felt that "happy-clappy" was derogatory until I asked her if they clap during the contemporary songs (she said yes) and then I asked if they clapped during hymns (obvious no). Then I asked why people raised their hands...

Yes, I obviously get on better discussing services with my aunt.
