  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (11)

im reading Genesis 6 right now. quick question, how was Noah perfect in his times?
it says "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These
are the generations of No'-ah: No'-ah was a just man and perfect in
his generations, and No'ah walked with God."

Couple of points:

6:8 But Noah found favor (חן) in the eyes of the LORD (Yahweh).

Favor is not something that Noah could do or earn favor, it is entirely something with Yahweh.

Also, the word used for “perfect” (תמים) is also translated as “complete” or “blameless” or “whole.” It is something that results from the favor of 6:8. See how this same word is used in Gen. 17:1 relative to Abram regarding the covenant. Interestingly it is commonly used to describe the lamb sacrifice in Exodus and Leviticus.
