Great picture Stude. I always dreamed of having a log cabin type home like that.

Is this where you live?

LOL, no logs, Marv, just the cabin.;) That's pine ship-lap siding. The picture is George's house. I live on the property. Usually, the house is such a mess I can't deal with it. With George gone, I can clean the place out.:p:)

Well... the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, well as long as you love me so...
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

Well, here it is at the end of February, we haven't had any snow for a month and it decides to snow. It started an hour before dusk and has been falling heavily since. If this keeps up, we'll have a foot by morning. :sigh: It's a good thing I didn't set out all those veggies I was considering at Lowes on Sunday... ;) I must admit, it is beautiful... if a bit inconvenient.:|

Yeah...no more snow!!! We're getting more today AND the pilot light is out on the furnace which means I have to stay home instead of making easy money today at the school. Today was going to be SOOOO easy too...In School Suspension! Read a book and tell the kids to be quiet. Too easy. :( But now I have to stay home and wait for the repair guy.

Whoa...you guys must be deep in it!! Ours keeps melting underneath so it's not bad. I'm hoping the little bit we got last night and this morning just melts so I don't have to go out and shovel it and get cold.

I keep thinking there has to be a reason why I was kept from going in to work today...hoping it was because I'll miss something that usually happens while I'm there like a fire alarm going off or something stupid like that ;)

I think we are all sick of the snow.....just a couple more weeks of this, and perhaps some warmer weather will kick in.

I woke up with a nasty cold this morning - I just wanted everyone to feel sorry for me so I'm telling you about it.

My son and his wife made an offer on their first home, and it was accepted. My little boy is all grown up now. Closing is March 29th.

recently the guys were out with the city plows moving snow around to various fields. Logic? It seems March is going to be snowier than usual, and we've already got higher-than-normal snow fall sitting on the ground. I don't have any official figures, but I guesstimate that we're sitting on about 24" of snow. It's hard to tell because it gets windy and the snow drifts everywhere, but we had two major storms blow through here and dump 8"-10" each time, and we've only had one or two days where it got warm enough to melt a little bit. Then the temp changed so quickly that everything froze. They're going to need jackhammers to remove it!!

Anyway, they're actually running out of places to put the snow, because they can't put it on the crop fields.

Glad to hear the wrist is getting better, Flipper.
Hang in there Sis, spring is just around the corner.;)

Speaking of spring; George and I recieved a little package, well two packages from the stork yesterday (in a heavy rain storm at that):

They're both doelings. Sadly, we can't keep them. I'll have to take them to the auctions. Pity is that their Father is their Grandfather too! So, to auction, to auction they go, jig-it-a-jig, jig-it-a-jog.

Yesterday was one of those days. It could have been considerably worse, I suppose… See, I figured that Princess’ kids had got strong enough and it was time to let them out. Not to mention the fact I was sick of her constant bawling.

First thing Princess did was to take off and find the rest of the herd. The kids toddled after Mummy as best they could. Figuring all was well, I went off searching for a Rover part I needed on a order I’ve been working on.

When I came back, the whole herd of goats was gone. Since, I hadn’t seen or heard them go by on the drive, I figured (correctly it turns out) they’d gone up the hill. However, I thought it best to go down the hill and check out their favourite browsing spot. Not finding them there I climbed the hill to the upper drive and returned that way to the house. Upon arrival back at the house I found one of the new kids dead on the road. She had apparently tumbled down the hill and broken her neck. I searched fruitlessly for several hours without finding the herd and returned to the house very depressed figuring both little doelings to be lost.

After moping about for several hours (my allergy meds didn’t help here), I decided to get back to work cleaning up the house. Whilst going out to the service trailer to get bags, I heard a weak bleating. It seems one of the doelings had fallen into a small sink hole. I’ve been meaning to fill the thing in again. Its about the diameter of a five-gallon-bucket and about twice as deep at this point, again. I’ve filled it in twice already. Well, there she was. I reached in and, very carefully, extracted her. She was dirty, but thankfully, unharmed. Poor thing was just shivering and cold. So, we went back in the house and sat ourselves down in a rocker in front of the fire and waited for the herd to return. She seemed to enjoy the attention and warmth, snuggled in and had about an hour’s nap before her Mum and the herd returned.

Suffice it to say, Princess and her sole remaining kid will be staying in that pen till the wee one can get along by herself. ;)

You know, I didn't appreciate properly actually being able to see what I'm typing till that other site 'upgraded' themselves.:mmh::whyy:

Well, it's snowing. Beautiful, fluffy, sparkling white snowflakes drifting so very gracefully down. So much for spring.;):p

Naw, it'll be gone before 8am. Pity that, as it's so beautiful. Weather warning to you easterners! Snow is on its way again!
