We're getting to be the other way around here. It's been raining for 10 days straight. We're farm country and it's harvest time. If the fields are too wet, the farmers can't get into the fields. There are rumors of sunshine and 60's tomorrow.

I could use some sunshine. Maybe I should get one of those lamps like Seajoy has. Real life has been a bit dreary lately. We've been having some serious problems with
Bear. Hubby and I have had colds for 2 weeks now. Last night, Tiger fell off the monkey bars and broke his arm. Praise God, it's a greenstick fracture and will heal quickly. On the brighter side, last weekend we attended my cousin's wedding. It snowed. Interesting coincidence, my cousin and his bride did not know each other as children, but were both baptised at the same church.

Yeah, as far as rain goes, there can be too much of a good thing. Same thing with sunshine.;) Speaking of sunlight, there are now lightbulbs that imitate sunlight's range of colours available in the hardware stores, like Home Depot and likely carried in the regular local stores. They are close to the same cost as ordinary incandescent bulbs and thus practical for replacements.;) Therefore ,Bloomer, it's not quite necessary to buy an expensive specialty bulb. :) 'Course, I don't know what the cost of Seajoy's light is, nor do I know quite what makes it work, however I would think that it has to do with range of light colours. Hence, using a more natural range of light colours throughout the house should help, I would guess. Think of it this way; at least you're not in Alaska where they have several months of (shudder:bbrr:) complete darkness.

What's everyone been up to the last few days? I've been busy having the swine flu. It is a nasty bug for sure. Hope none of you guys get it.

Glad you are feeling better

Just sipping on my tea and honey this morning.

And your honey doesn’t object? Brave man!

I won’t ask for the details. ;)

Just resting up after the play and keeping busy with work- and bracing for November, which will be a busy month at church- lots of stuff going on!

I'll be taking a break from CF for a while. It seems folks can say whatever they want around here now - unless you are a conservative.

I'm sure this will make JoeCatch and his ilk very happy.

I don't understand this, Seajoy - JoeCatch said what he did in the liberal forum. We say much worse things about liberals here in our conservative forum. That's why there's two subforums.

Why would you think bringing out a quote from someone in the liberal forum into the main forum wouldn't be problematic?

I can see you think it's no big deal for the term "psychological problems" to be thrown around any way anyone wants to use it.

Since I am problematic, it should be much easier on the mods not to have me around.

This is my good bye.

Thanks to all the wonderful folks I've met here - but this place is no longer what it was.

If the post offended you or you think it flames you, then report it. You've made this whole thing all about you, which it never was. You went into a liberal forum, found something they wrote about conservatives and then reposted it in the main forum. Why?

I never said I was okay with anything and frankly, today I'm really tired of people putting words in my mouth. The point is, we've said worse about liberals here. And no one has actioned those posts. They still stand.

Which is worse: to be told we have a mental disorder or told we're not Christians?

Because I KNOW we've told liberals they're not Christians.

Beckie, her feelings got hurt by the comment and even though it's not as bad as being called unchristian, words can still hurt... especially when one feels vulnerable.

I totally understand that, I do. And I could've understood her starting a thread here in the conservative area, or talking about here...but not in the main forum. That's just asking for trouble that she doesn't want, or need. And I hope she knows that I don't want her to leave, that I don't think she should let his comment force her away from here nor should she let anything I say force her away from here.

It was an insensitive comment that was made, and I totally get why she's frustrated. Kinda gives me more perspective on how BOTH sides feel, though.

Can't mods make the decision to move a post then. If it was wrong in the main forum, could it not have just been moved here?

That would be up to the mods of the area. I don't have jurisdiction here, otherwise I would've asked Seajoy if it could be moved.

At any rate, the thread has been removed.

Seajoy should know that she is a joy and and bright spot in this forum and that I love her very much.

Well, my very humble opinion is that mods should be able to move a thread to the forum that it fits in the best, especially amongst the parent forums. Like here, they should be able to move threads about between the main forum and the sub forums. That would go a long ways towards goodwill between the mods and the members.
