Why not turn on the stereo and listen to 'I am a Rock' and 'In My Room' over and over until yuo do something stupid.

The thing for a lonely person to do is:

GO OUT

Find anything you like and go out and do it.

Even a long walk alone on the beach or in the park is a far different thing than being alone inside at home. There is a difference between solitude and loneliness.

Go out to a wine tasting! I picked that because of how different it is from drinking (even an excellent) wine alone at home.

Well, I am glad your happy.:) I am trying to keep myself of being miserable.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. I struggle with loneliness, but I also know I'm not in a good place for a relationship right now, so I'm not seeking anything for now.

Much as it sucks.

Yes, it does suck. I live in a town where I am not accepted. So I am just trying to keep myself and my mind occuppied. That's why I posted this.

I'm sorry you are not accepted in your town. I can understand having issues with loneliness because of that and being unwilling to go out and try to meet up with people.

I'm lucky to be in a fairly accepting area.

If you want to talk, my PM inbox is always open.

wine tasting

Never thought about that.

Just to expand on wine tastings. 10 years ago it was pretty much only wine and either driving to wine country of a once a month thing at a boutique wine shop.

Now some of those were great. But the closest to me was a 15 mile drive.

Now There is a liquor store 3 miles from home that has tastings every Thursday and Friday. Sometimes wine sometimes beer. Another less than 5 miles from work that has tastings at least Thursday-Sunday every week. Usually a few different flights of 4.

And just recently Trader Joe's offers free tastings in selected stores. About 3/4 of an ounce of 3 different wines, except on weekends where it is 2 wines and a beer.

What once was a major commitment can now range from the near nothing of stopping at TJ's to something really close and nice to something just a bit farther and a bit nicer.

The original of hitting wine country still has its upside, you do tend to meet more people that way.
