Just birthday parties. They seem so much more about ego gratification and obligation than unadulterated gratitude.
Mother's Day & Father's Day seemed legit except I wanted a Son's Day.

I'm a bit of a musician, so I love parties. The spontaneous ones can be sometimes be the best ones.

I have heard yer singing and guitar playing....just thank God you don't have to make your living as a musician

Thanks. It's been bothering me since the first birthday party I went to. Honoring anyone in this format (annual birth date) is aping pagans.

Maybe if Peter had just thrown a birthday party for Jesus, I'd have a whole different outlook.

Howdy Rick! My two cents here...I think you should just listen to your conscience...while I dont think there is anything morally or intrinsically wrong with BDay parties, if your conscience is not clear, then skip it...

However, you should remember that usually BDay parties are NOT about/for the one being celebrated, but usually for those who are doing the celebrating...I love to celebrate my kids bday because its a way for me to express my love and joy of them being alive...so remember it is more about your friends and family then about yourself...
