If there is only one Church and that is either the EOC or the CC, and one must be a visible member of the One Church in this lifetime, in order to be saved, then many Christians are in deep trouble. However, if there is an invisible Church, encompassing all baptized Christians or if there is only One Church, but one need not be a member of the visible One Church in order to be saved, then there is hope for many Christians....There is only One Church
He isn't telling us to believe. He is saying that those who believe have everlasting life. Sorry, but if you want a precise answer, ask a precise question.in John 3:16, what is John telling us what to believe about Jesus?
Correct to a point. ANY sin is a transgressing of the WHOLE law. But even that, as your post agrees, does not mean that any one sin is as bad as another. It's not only in the results of sin, but how the sin affects the rest of creation, and in particular the Bride of Christ. There are no hidden sins, but open sin in which the sinner and perhaps others are proud of it, needs dealt with immediately for the sake of the body of Christ. Some sins are directly called abominations and some are not. Not only that, but a sin by the same name for one person is not the same as by another person --God looks on the heart to judge the deeds. It is not necessarily so that all sin is the same. The Bible says that God hates some sin and truly abhors another. All sin is the same in that it separates us from God and that the sin is really against God. However the results of some sin is much worse than others and therefor it is a worse sin only in that narrow sense. The result for the individual is the same. In the verses you quote Christ is only clarifying that sin is in the heart and not the physical act. In the heart and in the mind the rebellion against God is completed, the physical act is after the fact.
You mean the literal event of travelling on a road to a city called Damascus? Or perhaps this is a metaphor? Again I'm speaking of the actually literal event not a spiritual experience we identify as a turning point in our lives similar to Paul. But you know what I mean so let's keep to the literal event as described in Acts and my point that Paul met and spoke with Jesus. There is no difference since God is Spirit.
But I am referring to the literal event
and how the Spirit of Christ literally
converts people, all day, every day,
all throughout history. What we know
is exactly how conversions happen.
There is no mystery.

If what you meant to ask is what do we believers believe when we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe everything the Scriptures (and he) say about him. But no doubt you meant to go somewhere else with that.

You hear Jesus knocking, you open
the door and let Him in. Is this not
getting through yet? The process is
documented in different ways.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:8
“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
John 10:9
I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture

Paul met Jesus.
You can read about the event in Acts 9.
There is One God
There is One Lord
There is One Faith
There is One Baptism
There is One Jesus
There is only One way to God
There is One Savior
And there is One Gospel
Galatians 1:6
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
So since there is only One God, One Savior, One way to God through Christ, One faith, One baptism and One Gospel- there is only one way to be saved.
How do you know you have the right One ?
hope this helps !!!

The One Baptism is this :It's not that simple. Ephesians 4:5 says one baptism but Hebrews 6:2 says baptisms in the plural.
We need to understand the dispensational context of each verse.
So there are 3 gospels, and each is the only true gospel during its own dispensation/age.
- There is only one true gospel for the church age: the gospel of the grace of God.
- There was only one true gospel during the gospels: the gospel of the kingdom.
- There will only be one true gospel during the tribulation: the everlasting gospel (preached by an angel, by the way, see Revelation 14:6).
Without that division, the Bible cannot be reconciled.
That's why Paul also commanded Timothy to "divide" the word of truth (2Ti.2:15).
Do you know what was the good news Abraham received from God in genesis 15?
It's not that simple. Ephesians 4:5 says one baptism but Hebrews 6:2 says baptisms in the plural.
The One Baptism is this :
1 Corinthians 12:13
For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body--whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
Ephesians 4:5-6
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
The same author the Apostle Paul, same meaning. One Baptism- the One which Saves, the Baptism of the Spirit at Salvation. The indwelling Spirit of Christ. Christ in you the Hope of glory.

We'd probably have a better understanding of the text if we understood this here as "washings". Much ink has been spilled on what the author means here, but most commentaries I can find tend toward the understanding that βαπτισμῶν διδαχῆς (baptismon didaches) concerns, as for elementary principles of the Christian religion, the proper distinction between the many Jewish ritual ablations/washings (which the New Testament refers to as "baptisms") and that of Christian Baptism.
The one Baptism of Ephesians refers to Christian Baptism, rather than the various ritual ablations of Judaism, or of the baptism of St. John the Baptist. This would be a necessary elementary doctrine of Christianity for new converts (especially in the context of Jewish converts to Christianity in the 1st century).

The word of God said baptisms. So I stick with that. I've been around the Greek game and "scholars" for far too long to take it too seriously.
