Also, the (globe) model, like you said, agrees with "many" of the fundamental observations .. but .. not all.
There is a proposed FE model. It also agrees with "many" of the fundamental observations.
Take your own advice.Don't be silly.
You should have paid attention in school.
Gravity is real.
All attempts to convince you it isn't is horse droppings.
No. We should say something is right because people who spent years and years studying this have discovered it to be true. We can also say it's true when 500 years of tested scientific study support that theory. We can also say it's right when study after study proves it. We can also say it's right when observations support that theory.Should we say that something is right, just because we have believed it for half a millennia?
No there isn't. That said, this claim is SOOOOO broad and vague, I guess you could be right. I mean, it doesn't prove the point, nor support anything. There is a proposed FE model. It also agrees with "many" of the fundamental observations.
And yet I hear them say outlandishing unlearned things on this topic almost exclusively. In addition, they do not seem to adhere to what constitutes solid evidence. For example, simply stating: "The pendulum’s movements clearly do not substantiate a spinning globe." is not evidence that it doesn't do that.If you really wipe your white board and start from scratch... you will understand this. Those that are presenting this model as fact are not morons.
Sure. Just don't make your decisions on terrible, terrible evidence.Take your own advice.
You shouldn't have fallen into their trance at school.
Now you"re as silly as they are.
I will decide for myself what is real, thank you snyway.
It's likely to all be settled in a matter of months. Space travel has gone commercial ...
Look, i know about these silly theories too.Take your own advice.

Well ... I've observed a lifetime of sunrises and sunsets, ... observations that the Flat Earth model cannot explain.
And ... I've seen the bases of the skylines of various cities I've traveled to obscured by the curve of the earth ... though I never really thought much about it before now, I'll admit.
And ... I've experienced the effects of what we here call gravity all of my life.
Good on ya mate... so do I... Actually..one in Lab Techniques and one in Mechanical Engineering and DesignIn addition to all of that, I've got a degree in Mechanical Engineering, the obtaining of which included performing various experiments involving motion, speed, acceleration, gravity, and other similar forces (i.e. electromagnetics, friction, etc.) ...
It's only been since I've gotten into the arguments for the flat earth (or not) that I even knew anything about how much the earth should curve per amount of distance traveled. BTW, the 8" per mile is an approximation that is only good for relatively short distances.
We also thought that Lemmings ran off of cliffs and killed themselves.. Or that you caught a cold from being cold... or that chameleons change color for camouflage..frogs and toads give your warts... Ostriches stick their heads in the sand...the list goes on.. Thinking that one idea is a fact and rock solid for many generations... not a good metric for if it is truth or not. ...We've known that the earth is a sphere for a long time. From Wiki ...
The earliest reliably documented mention of the spherical Earth concept dates from around the 6th century BC when it appeared in ancient Greek philosophy but remained a matter of speculation until the 3rd century BC, when Hellenistic astronomy established the spherical shape of the Earth as a physical given and calculated Earth's circumference. The paradigm was gradually adopted throughout the Old World during Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
So, to sum this up... The earth is a globe because many people agree that it is and they have agreed this for a long time. The point is that there is a globe model ... which agrees with many of the fundamental observations made by people for two and a half millennia ... both scientists and non-scientists.
There is not even one proposed flat earth model ... precisely because of issues with agreement with many of the fundamental observations made by people through the millennia ... and not even agreement amongst its proponents.
Except that they still don't know how gravity works. And.. they cannot prove in any experiment that we are spinning or moving.. at all.And the global model is the only model that is in agreement with the known and experimentally well verified laws of physics.
There are many. Maybe you should do some actual study.
So, to sum this up... The earth is a globe because many people agree that it is and they have agreed this for a long time.
Good logic...not.
People used to think that putting leaches on you was a good way to heal you. Or... better still.. just drain your blood.. that will fix ya up some quick.
Lets hope so..It's likely to all be settled in a matter of months. Space travel has gone commercial ...
Can you give us a couple of scientific studies that prove that we are a ball.. or spin.. or orbit and move through space? No. We should say something is right because people who spent years and years studying this have discovered it to be true. We can also say it's true when 500 years of tested scientific study support that theory. We can also say it's right when study after study proves it. We can also say it's right when observations support that theory.
OR... men used to know the truth... but... with all the scientific proof that we move and spin... Oh... wait... no evidence of this yet.People used to think the earth was flat at one time too, but then discovered otherwise, and then man made technological advances and learned even more. Then man eventually reached his limit and began reverting back to ignorance and forgot that the earth was a globe and resorted to sitting at a computer all day long arguing with people about it, proving that all good things must end.
Don't let terrible people decide for you what is evidence.Sure. Just don't make your decisions on terrible, terrible evidence.
OR... men used to know the truth... but... with all the scientific proof that we move and spin... Oh... wait... no evidence of this yet.
Could it be that Satan has influenced men to propose a globe earth model which makes the whole Darwinian, atheistic, evolutionary fairy tale possible.
Like I said before.. the flat enclosed earth makes man the center of God's attention. A footstool if you will. It destroys the big bang and evolution.... We are no longer a speck of random dust in a vast, ever expanding void...
No.. we are not random.. Not a speck of dust and it demands a creator.
The earth on it's "foundations" suddenly makes sense.
The earth which "will not be moved" suddenly makes sense.
The earth with "four corners" now possible.
And the most trustworthy foxes all agree the henhouse is completely safe. And the global model is the only model that is in agreement with the known and experimentally well verified laws of physics.
