Their rebooting Lost! Whats you view on this?

The producer (if I recall) stated a few days ago they want o reboot Lost. It sounds like there will be new team leading it up. However its not confirmed by the guy if its a reboot of the Lost we know or if its a whole new script with new people crashed on an island.

I personally think Lost is one of those gems like Fringe or X-Files that you shouldn't reboot. These shows had the right cast, right directors, right everything that made them instantly great. its very hard to recreate that perfect thing again. And if it all goes south it will ruin the legacy of a series.

However there are some shows in which a reboot or expansion would be great. Such as heroes. Have maybe an alternate timeline. Or a whole new set of heroes/villains. Superhero things are rebootable because there are so many stories to be retold.

I really don't want Lost to be rebooted though. It won't be the same.

LOST was like a dream that kept changing while you were dreaming it, and in the end a lot of viewers were just confused. I don't think they have the patience to do this again. This is a shame, because it was a great show in the way it got into the characters, especially the back-stories.

Eh, not interested. We watched the first two seasons. Then one day we looked at each other and said "This is just getting stupid." And we stopped watching. Not interested at all in any comeback.

Theres no doubt the show got more confusing to more people as it went on. If you weren't part of some of the big lost forums that allowed theory, speculations...etc then you probably would still be lost by it. THose forums really helped me understand things more. Like hidden connections. Or things in scenes you probably didn't notice...etc.

All that aside for many it became like the last two Matrix movies which had people also totally confused.

I loved LOST... right up until the final episode, which was such a huge let down. If they had skipped that episode I could see them rebooting it possibly. But not anymore. It's time to move on.

It's worth a try. If it turns out then great but if it flops no big deal either. I don't think a failure would ruin anything. They can't take away the enjoyment I had back when the first one was on just because they ruined the reboot.
