  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Showing sex without love and in the marriage bed is exploitation...its selfish because it teaches the wrong idea about sex
Not necessarily so. You place an unreasonable burden on sex like its some holy ritual that CANNOT ever be used except in love.

Ill agree that love makes it better, but I dont see how its wrong to have sex without love. Its an incredibly intimate act that makes you feel cared for and connected.

Sex without love is more animalistic. Thats not how God intended it to be, thats why he created love to associate with sex.
Then why doesnt love ALWAYS associate with sex? If it was designed that way...

And why does the emotional benefits also come from sex PERIOD regardless of love?

And we technically ARE animals

I am totally against censorship, so let Playboy live.
However, I do find it sexist. Looking at it from a woman's point of view, we're portrayed as zoo animals to be stared at. Women are airbrushed and it just seems so superficial and demeaning.
However, I can understand the appeal from the heterosexual man's point of view.
I have no problem with sexuality, and there's nothing wrong with sex that is "animalistic."

I just wonder how many naive guys think that this is what sex is all about...having extremely high standards on female beauty and low standards of female intelligence.

Sex, Drugs, and Rock-n-roll...woo hoo...ah, forget the drugs...sex and rock and roll...woo hoo.

Sex is associated with love. In marriage man and woman engage in sex to show their love for one another in a sexual way

Without sex in a marriage, like if a woman deprives her husband, there are usually problems

What? Hold on a sec? A "woman depriving her husband?" Are suggesting that it's the woman's and only the woman's job to pleasure her husband, and not the other way around. Because darling women have needs too.

It doesn't really "teach" that, it just shows the men who buy it what they want to see. And, to be honest, I think (no, it's even rather a fact than a belief) about 90 % of all men have watched at least one porn or bought one issue of the Playboy in their life.

Cosmo = sex-tips for secretaries

Playboy = sex-tips for secretaries' bosses

^_^

That's a cool definition!

Hmm, what if the man deprives the woman? If I deprived my girlfriend of sex for too long, I think she'd tie me to a bed and force me.

thank's for sharing this...
the man hardly will want to deprive the woman, it usually doesn't happen, maybe because they need to "empty" themselves...

It does teach it, whether or not you see it. It teaches us that sex is like that....that its superficial....that mostly all women/men in porn should look that way

Because sex is our expression of our love for one another....in marriage.
You make a LOT of assumptions.

Why can sex not be a way to simply be physically close with annother human being? In this age of connection, most people have lost the inherant ability to do something as simple as be close to annother person. We dont think of touch as important, but it goes a long way psychologically.

Why can it not be fun? Why can it not be for pleasure?

ROFL.

I think my boyfriend can relate to that one.

As someone who constantly struggles with poor body image, I found it hard to be cool with a boyfriend who reads Playboy, feeling like I'd be compared to the images within, but once I learned more about the whole "Hef lifestyle" and all, I grew okay with it. It's like James Bond with bunnies.

LOL

Playboy markets fantasy, and just about every adult reader knows that. And nearly every adult reader is able to separate "fantasy" from "reality."

Those that usually CAN'T make the separation haven't passed their 21st birthday yet.
