I was perceiving this which is becoming a trend when I heard for the first time a long while ago the word moist is offensive. I don't agree it should be considered so. And of course the word field is far to general to exclude. I find it hard to believe there are many books at all without the word field in them. Where will this lead? This is very disturbing.

Who controls this?I don't think inclusion of a diversity of people with policy of equal treatment is a problematic issue, but control of our language really is.

You are missing nothing.I can't help but see this as counter-productive. Treating slavery as though it were "field work", that slaves were "field workers" and targeting "field" undermines the evil of slavery. The enslaved weren't field workers, they were enslaved.
In the case of immigrant field workers, the issue isn't field work, it's the exploitation and exploitative nature of how it's done that is the problem.
Am I missing something?
