I'm surprised at the manipulation of scripture seen in the quotes provided by isshinwhat... but I guess if you're determined to prove your view right, you could twist many verses in the bible from their original meaning to support your argument.

No matter what you may argue, nothing will convince me that praying to Mary, having statues and relics scattered around, doing penance, confession, hail Mary's and "venerating" things has any value, when compared to having a real relationship with God.

Not only do I twist Scripture, but I don't have a personal relationship with God. I really wish I could have an actual conversation with some of these people who think Catholics are necessarily spiritually dead. It hurts me to no end. Lord Jesus, give me strength and understanding. God give me a patient and compassionate heart.

I was really annoyed because I wrote a very nice post for the "preacher who got beaten..." thread, which was discarded because the thread was closed while I was writing it.

That was a depressing thread. "Hi, I want you all to commiserate with me at how unsympathetic people are when my husband usurps God's authority to tell people who does and doesn't go to Hell, during a funeral."
