Yes, I'm Linda from Rapture Ready.

Religion is a hottly debated subject, so I can understand why there is quite a bit of fighting between catholics and non-catholics...heck look at Northern Ireland.

As for all people at RR hating catholics, that is not true. I'm married to a catholic....and I certainly don't hate my hubby. But I do believe that the catholic church has turned a simple message from our Lord and Savior into a very complicated religion.

I hope that I will be welcomed here with open arms as I do believe there are 'saved' individuals in the catholic church, but I do not believe it is the one true church.

Thank you for your 'warm' welcome, but normally when in RR I post in the 'prayer forum' or the 'we that struggle forum'. I do on occasion post in apolo.....but my head starts to hurt from banging it on my puter.

I thought it was generally against board rules to post links to other bulletin boards? Being that you're a mod here at 'Christian forum' don't you think that 'making fun' of other Christians openly is hypocritical?

I am sorry if it seems that I'm coming on strong. We do all we can here to keep things civil, and I have no way of knowing where you post at RR.

I have posted no links to RR, but I will review the entire thread and will delete those I find. I have three different forums that I moderate, and I cannot keep up with everything all at the same time.

As for making fun, there is a difference between lighthearted teasing and outright attack; and here, when someone is offended by the teasing, the teaser usually apologizes. In any event, if we are doing our job, you will never see the type of vicious, savage, seething hatred attacks found on RR made towards anybody here; the closest you might find are the debates in the News forum, and even those are pretty tame by comparison.

Linda, sorry to see you gave the RR board the impression that the WHOLE freezer thread was about the debates on RR. We have mentioned it some in the last few pages mixed with other topics. Mostly it's the frustration that people don't 'really listen' to Catholics.

Actually, I was hoping not to have to look at Northern Ireland.

Anyway, please don't take the comments about RR too personally. You're seeing, here, people who have been pretty banged up in some of the posts over there... Note also that this thread is mostly just for venting from anything. I'm not Catholic, and I'll come here and whine for hashbrowns and Dove Bars after getting in a debate *with* the Catholics.

It's odd; in this one thread, there's a sort of unity among the believers that I've never seen anywhere else on any forum. If you go back a few pages, you'll see me trading frozen ice cream treats with someone - after we offended *each other* in another thread.

AFAIK the freezer is also given a little bit of leeway regarding "attacks" -- it's sort of a place to blow of steam when you are in difficult debates and such.

Obviously this is not a license to do whatever you want, though.
