By the way, I took my kids to see Solo today at the theater.
I liked Solo - it's not epic like other Star Wars movies. But, it's still completely enjoyable, and the actor who plays Han nailed the Han Solo attitude and facial expressions.
I got chewed out by my boss because my production has been down since my MIL has been here AND I have not been working the 4-6 hours of OT they're "asking" for. I told her this is a very bad month for me. I have not ever been one to work OT on weekdays, and all of my weekends this month have been spoken for because of MIL. I also reminded her - this situation was forced on me by my husband and my bully of a sister-in-law. It wasn't my idea.
So, I gave my husband grief tonight, and told him I'm so glad I could possibly lose my job, so his sister could have a vacation. I also told him that the ONLY reason this situation works is because I work from home. Both he and his sister know it, and it was incredibly selfish and unfair of them to put this on me like I don't actually work or something. I told my mother next time I'm going to move out until MIL is gone. My mom pointed out that since my MIL is 87 there may not be a next time.
But, people in that family live well into their 90s. Her sister was 96 when she passed, and I think the only reason she passed then was because her husband of 70 years had recently died at 104. So, there probably will be a next time, and we will still be living in this house, and I'll be even more worried about her falling down our stairs.
If we had a bigger house with a bed and bath on the first floor and I had a private office space - this wouldn't be so bad. But, just having another person in my space is incredibly distracting.
Oh and there was one day that she didn't come down until almost noon - I was so scared she had passed away in the night.
B-/C+
I am sorry to hear she's doing this. That's a hard one in particular to set boundaries on since you have the care of your MIL alongside it.So now my sister-in-law - who knew good and darn well that this weekend is my son's birthday - says she can't possibly meet us to take their mother back on Saturday. She wants us to bring her the whole way to NC - a mere 10 hours 1 way. This is nothing more or less than a power and control game for her, and I've had enough. I don't ever - under any circumstances - want to see her again.
So Hub ended up taking MIL the whole way to NC and SIL had the nerve to whine that she had to cancel her hair appointment because of having to wait on HUb and their mom. Like how dare we inconvenience her! I told Hub it shows she planned to manipulate the situation so we’d have to take MiL the whole way to NC from the beginning. It’s also a really good thing she and I didn’t come face to face or there might have been actual violence.
"May the wings of liberty never lose a feather."Name the movie. Here's the quote:
They sent in their best man, and when we roll across the 59th Street bridge tomorrow, on our way to freedom, we're going to have their best man leading the way - from the neck up! [cheering erupts] On the hood of my car! [more cheering]
"May the wings of liberty never lose a feather."
Same actor, same director, different movie.
Actually not the same actor as your quote, but he was the lead role.
Isaac Hayes, in "Escape From New York"Name the movie. Here's the quote:
