  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This depresses me, I thought you might of overblown this fact. Sadly nope, your right, the more I research this topic, it absolutely disgusts me. X-Men for many years has been subliminally pushing a homosexual agenda, and the director of one of the recent movies admitted he used the film as Gay propaganda. I don't think I want kids, with all the perverts that want to brainwash their little minds

I can't believe I let myself get into an argument in the comments section of Faux News.
The waitress in this story is actually the granddaughter of a prominent Harrisonburg area attorney. Idiots on there are saying - she *says* she was born here, asking where her parents were born (Harrisonburg, VA that's where), and implying the girl is a prostitute. People make me sick. This whole thing actually started when her grandfather posted a picture of the receipt on his Facebook. I also notice that Faux news fails to mention that her grandfather is a prominent attorney:

Hey Zaida. Congratulations again, btw.

People say stupid things. People do stupid things. Some of the worst jobs I ever had were food service, and people felt they could abuse workers - I guess it made them feel better somehow. And that was back when "the customer was always right" and we had to smile, be polite, and not take offense. It was good practice for me in a way. Turning the other cheek and all that.

But people continue to say stupid things.

I must be oblivious to this...I just rewatched the trilogy (the latest trilogy) and didn't catch any of the references to homosexuality...I guess my mind just doesn't recognize the references unless it is completely blatant.

I think I've seen them all too and never noticed a thing.

But then I tend to be oblivious to lots of certain kinds of things unless they are blatant.

On the other hand, I think I sometimes notice things others are oblivious to. One time my daughter spent the night with a friend from church, and their (very pious) family let the girls watch "Click". Later I watched it and was mortified when I saw a shadow-scene that depicted - ah - let's just say a horrible abomination.

I think it's more the comics than the films. the LGBTQA community just latched onto them with being "oppressed" and whatnot.

THX 1138 was George Lucas' first film. that is why THX is the name of the company he started to enhance visuals and sound in film, and 1138 was Princess Leia's cell in A New Hope.
