Nope. Not quite. If I wanted the answer you gave, I would have asked, Is the law still valid?

Again, in context of my question: which one?

Your statement is invalid because as I said, NO ONE could keep the whole Law. Do you understand why?

I am going based on the fact that you implied that we should still try to keep the law, even though no one can.

You did not say "the Law", you said "the WHOLE Law"

Do you believe that Yeshua kept the WHOLE Law?

You did not say "the Law", you said "the WHOLE Law"
So you are not trying to keep the whole law, you are just trying to keep a portion of it? Are you picking and choosing what portion of it you should and shouldn't keep? Isn't that smorgasborg religion?

And the question is simple, and I will rephrase it: Why are you trying to keep the law? Is it because you love Jesus or is it because you are wanting to be justified by it?

If you are trying to be justified by it, Do you understand that scripture requires that you keep it all (the whole law) perfectly from conception into eternity in order to be justified that way (Galatians 3:10, James 2:10, Matthew 5:48)?

It must be invalid because if no one can keep the whole law, that would certainly mean that you are not attempting to be justified by it. (But I wonder if that (the desire to be under the law) is what is secretly in your heart, as it was with mine, even in days when I outwardly contended for salvation by grace through faith; which I continue to do now do with a belief in it that is more wholehearted).

No, because your initial statement was invalid

I wish that people would study first.

In The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, in volume V, there is about 100 pages of great material about "nomos" (law). Most especially from a New Testament perspective.

I actually did an indepth study on this, about 7 years ago.

In a bit, I'll post some of my results.

God Bless

Till all are one.

For the last time, the Sabbath was not invented at Sinai. "REMEMBER" means it was something that was in effect PRIOR to the statement. How can anyone argue that the Almighty created the Sabbath for Adam (man), hid it for centuries during the time of the patriarchs, and waited until 2,500 years after Creation week to reveal the Sabbath on Sinai? The Sabbath is alluded to just before the Exodus from Egypt even began and in the desert weeks BEFORE Sinai... Exodus 16

Yet Paul says the idea of "Holy days" or "days of religious observance" are optional for the Christian.

How convenient for you for you! So no laws, no religious holy days, a free for all! Someone forgot to tell James and the others who kept observing and going to the Temple until 70 AD.

Okay, if you want to be contentious and not give an honest, straightforward answer to my question, this conversation is over.

I DID give you an honest answer. It is not my fault that your question was invalid regarding the Law...

You did not give me a straightforward answer to the question.

I'll ask again: Why are you trying to keep the law? 1) Is it because you love Jesus (yes or no) or is it because you are trying to be justified by it (yes or no).

Pick one or both to say yes to...if the answer is no to both questions, please provide an alternative reason as to why you are trying to keep the law.

(Because you said that we should try to keep the law, even though we can't, because you still try to do well on a test even if you can't get a perfect A on it. btw, that analogy breaks down because it is possible to get a perfect A on a test, while the other thing is impossible. And if it were possible and you attained to it, suddenly you would find yourself fallen from grace (Galatians 5:4).)

Actually I did within the bounds of your argument. Another false analogy...that grace and the law are mutually exclusive because your premise is wrong...again.
NO ONE could or had to ever keep the entirerty of the Law...
