Ummm. Please tell me how the earth also has four corners and isn't really a globe that people have literally flown around. I've met the people who have flown around it. Launch a camera up on a weather balloon and you can see that it is a ball.

What say we start a fund for every Flat-earth geo-centric believer. The fund will provide them with a GPS-enabled camera, a tracker to find the camera's position, and a weather balloon. They can run the experiment themselves. The camera will live-feed onto their personal Youtube page, proving every time that the earth is a sphere suspended in space in orbit around the sun, not because of trickery, but because that is the truth.

Tell me why do you mock the word of God, it seem to be your foray, is anything pure to you, do you believe anything the bible says or do you twist all of it to fit your own private interpretation?

Well, this is a frightening thought if geocentrism is true; if so then, we have some explaining to do as to how the earth got a wobble in it and how it got to spinning, and knocked out of orbit.

And, if God has any plans to restore geocentrism when the New Jerusalem comes down then, perhaps the earth comes to a screeching halt and fall into a corner pocket or what?

The truth is that they orbit around the earth, which is a ball operating according to Newtonian physics as well as Relativity in both General Relativity and Special Relativity.

Being a spherical mass, the earth exerts a gravitational pull. However, the sun is much more massive. Because of this, the gravitational pull of the sun is greater. If one centers himself at the axis of the sun, it appears that the planets are, indeed, orbiting around it. One does not notice, from said vantage point, the effect of the planets on the sun. If one charts the path of the objects in the solar system, you would notice that the sun's orbit is wobbly, not remaining perfectly circular, as the planets exert some gravitational pull on the sun. The gravitational tug of war is, however, in balance, so that the sun remains a cool 93 million miles away.

This distance is nice, since the sun is a giant, massive, atom-smashing machine, cramming hydrogen nuclei together until they fuse into helium.

For 500 bucks, I can build you a machine that can harness that reaction in your backyard

It is not a hatred of the Bible. It is a love of God's Creation. I'm a scientist who also happens to be a Christian in a Church so old that some of our gatherings haven't even figured out the point of electric lamps.

The Bible is written to men, using phrases men would understand. Nobody would understand "when the earth turned away from the sun".

Good question; you don't have too if you don't want too.
But if you will look a little deeper with those things you are concern about you will find the truth is they all are base on assumptions.
But the real question a Christian should address is the undisputable geocentric position the bible has; that is the real challenge to believe the bible or the science falsely called.
Seriously all of us had to go through this.
But with every temptation there is an escape, and God will give you the answers, just be prepared for the mocking because you choose to believe the bible.

Plewase keep the flat earth accusation out of this in relation to this thread's statement that the Scriptures do not lie. The Scriptures state the earth is a globe, for the Hebrew word תבֵל /tebel means "globe"

1Sa 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.
Hebrew תבֵל /tebel means "globe" -from the B-L etymons which denote swelling, and from those etymons we get words like "belly, ball, bulb, bell, balloon", and so on and so forth.
Only ignorance of the Word itself would cause a person to state that the world is flat, and only willful ignorance of the Word itself causes a person to deny the Truth of Scripture that states the heavens circle the earth and that the sun rises and sets around the globe following its own peculiar path in the circle/heavens of the earth...

As to the corners of earth: you need to go to the Hebrew to discover the truth of it and stop interpreting based on translators mis-understandings:
The word is not
מַקְצֻעָה mĕquts`ah -corner posts:
but כָּנָף kanaph wings

So you have the four borders of the earth, which relates to the four winds: North, South, East, and West. They have points of origin from which points they go over all the earth....
Enoch flatly states that the winds are the pillars of the earth and the heavens, and those are powers/forces having specific points of rest, from which they disperse.




The KJV translates Strongs H3671 in the following manner: wing (74x), skirt (14x), borders (2x), corners (2x), ends (2x), feathered (2x), sort (2x), winged (2x), misc (8x).

God said the sun, moon, and stars control the seasons. Unbelief says the earth tilts on its axis and revolves around the sun, to bring in the seasons.

I don't see the two statements in opposition.

I'm sorry, but he has no credibility with me. Special and General Relativity are among the most well-demonstrated theories in physics. If you think they represent any theological difficulty for Christians, I suggest reading up on Dr. John Hartnett, a Christian physicist who makes his living by, in part, designing relativistic clocks.
