One of the two friends I had played ToV with that weekend seemed to hail it as his best RPG of all time, not just personal favorite Tales installment. He mentioned having played it through to completion - side questing and all - several times since it first came out. Which sounds almost as frequent as I played through Final Fantasy 7 in the first two years since it came out. ... And my friend, that is quite a bit.


Naturally, Princess Estellise was my favorite character going through Tales of Vesperia. I fell in love with her right away.


... Oh, Legend of Legaia, being so little known, was shockingly pleasing as an RPG experience. One of the best twenty bucks I ever spent on a brand new game in my life, and that was way back in 2000, perhaps not even a full two years after it came out. I definitely got a bargain there.

Hehe, yeah Final Fantasy VII I also played through quite a bit also. I just loved the story. VIII was another few times played, the card game was great!

Yep, I certainly miss that game!

Hehe, yeah Final Fantasy VII I also played through quite a bit also. I just loved the story. VIII was another few times played, the card game was great!

Yep, I certainly miss that game!

Actually, Lantis and Shadowfox - the two guys I had played ToV with - kept questioning my natural affection for her because they thought she was stupid. ... Of course this meant they were pining after Judith instead and were all like "How could you possibly like Estellise over Judith?! Dude!!!" ... all because Judith was less modest in dress style and had bigger breasts. Pshww. That ain't all there is to even a VG heroine. I stand by my love for the Princess.

... It's really weird how I get nostalgia for recalling memories even as seemingly trivial as that - playing through ToV with friends on a first-time journey, or remembering where I was when buying Legend of Legaia and the first, original Resident Evil game in an EB store as well as how much they each cost - but I guess some long-time gamers my age can do that, too.

Rogue Galaxy? Sorry, never heard of it to my immediate memory. But as a shot in the dark, was that the name of an RPG they made from the Star Wars franchise?

@SarahsKnight - it's a PS2 Era rpg. It's little-known but generally considered one of the better ones. I'll try and find a trailer for it. I think you'd have loved it.

Well, that's the thing with me. Everyone's standards of physical beauty are often quite different. And I for one thought Estellise was genuinely prettier than Judith, anyway.

Funny thing is, with Kansas, Seger and other classics I listen to while playing the game anyway...... it fits.

I usually don't either unless the music is bad.

A game with a lot of talking.... not a big deal.

A car game with bad music, very little talking (None, outside of the story and the police chasing you) Bad music is unacceptable.

Most all driving games could use some better music- most are purely rap and pop with a few metal songs and maybe one or two rock songs. And classic rock is almist unheard of, and let's be honest, for driving fast, you can't beat classic rock. So I do play my music instead pretty often.

Yeah, the music in that car game is even worse than the norm. Its the generic no lyric beat track type garbage that when I found out you can run a USB full of music on there while playing the game........ never again were my ears assaulted by the horror. Now its nothing but classic rock to metal.

Outside of the classic rock, most of it is from the 80's-90's.
