Yes. For me, it is like a theology book on string.Only recently started praying the Rosary again. For me, it is pray directed towards Jesus. Towards God. Mary is our great Holy Mother, as given to us by Jesus at the foot of the cross.
Who better to take our cares and worries etc to God the Son than His Blessed Mother!

The power of interecession of the Mother of our Lord has old testament biblical underpinning, biblical precedent
I am not so sure. Others have used rosary beads and substituted other prayers for the Hail Mary and don't seem to have an issue with using a rosary to keep track of these prayers. Or are you specifically talking about some of the claims made about graces or benefits that come from saying the rosary? The rosary, however, is about us petitioning the Virgin and believing that she has the authority to grant our petitions thanks to our having used that particular artifact in the process.
It is NOT just about her praying for mortals. The Bible does say that the angels pray constantly for us, so that much is not particularly controversial.
We ourselves can take our cares and worries to God the Son. We are no better than his mother, no worse.

Well, yes. That is necessary if the issue is to be framed correctly.Or are you specifically talking about some of the claims made about graces or benefits that come from saying the rosary?
I just think you need to be more discerning in the threads you pick to do this. This thread was started by a Catholic asking for advice on the rosary, an optional Catholic devotion. It started as an opportunity to offer spiritual guidance. You have hijacked it into your own personal soapbox and probably will not stop posting until you have the last word. So your next post will probably be the last, since to continue to admonish you will be beyond my limit of what is righteous help and into the realm of unrighteous hatred.Thank you for the comment. What you have just stated is in fact your opinion.
Now is there some rule or law or command that I can not do exactly as you have just done???
I completely understand that you as a Catholic would be bothered by the comments made.
Have you asked yourself.....WHY that is the case?
WHY would the comment that the ROSARY is not found in the Bible bother me to the point I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO ARGUE ITS EXISTANCE with someone who admits he has NO authority, no goal in life except to share the Word of God with others.
Pretty much. How so? (is it like listening to one end only of a conversation over the phone)?
I remember those days. Our neighbors, mostly older ladies living alone, would put their phones in a wash basin to magnify the vibrations when someone else on the party line was getting a phone call. Then they would listen in on the call. The old PARTY line was social media 50 years ago!
Okay. So there is a difference of opinion about that.I reread the OP and am not seeing that.

Yes, we started out as one long, two short. If you stayed on the line after your caller hung up, you could count the other clicks to see how many had been listening. Later they changed to a different setup, where only the receiving phone would be rang; but it was still a party line. So that was when the innovative started using the wash basin trick. My grandmother lived a 1/4 mile from us and we were often in her house. If the phone was in the wash basin, you knew what she had been doing.Yes. My mother knew everything about everyone in our neighborhood.
One ring...…….two rings......One short, one Long, Three rings. My mother memorized very ring and knew if she wanted to listen or not.
Ah......the good old days.

I dunno about that. Given the way the OP was presented, the topic was made to be very broad, including whether or not the rosary is what it is said to be by the church.
Because it was placed on this forum rather than one of the specifically Roman Catholic ones, it also appears to have been the intention of the writer to open up the discussion rather than to confine it to words of encouragement or restatements of the Catholic Church's position on the use of the rosary.
