This is one of I believe a 20 part series on the entire book of Revelations. I have watched and so far its fantastic. What I really enjoy about Pastor Doug is he does not preach at you, he is more of a teacher. I find him extremely easy to listen to and always relates everything with Bible scripture.

What I really enjoy... is he does not preach at you, he is more of a teacher. I find him extremely easy to listen to and always relates everything with Bible scripture.

Sister, the 2300-year prophesy that started our church was the beginning of a greater understanding of the Sabbath, due to the unit used of "evenings and mornings" that takes us back to the first day.

He said to me, "It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated." (Daniel 8:14 NIV)​

This unit of "evenings and mornings" take us back to the first day of Genesis. What we have not understood is that evening falls in the middle of the first day and not at the beginning. The first day is from first light to light again in the morning and later days from morning to morning until the first Sabbath from morning to morning.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)​

Israel remembers the Sabbath in the Eden time zone, confirmed by the Sabbath in Israel which reveals where God taught us to count the days with the week, pointing to the International Date Line as the site of our origin. Many biblical passages confirm that the day is from morning to morning, like the rules of eating Passover. This is such a remarkable find that I have written a book on the subject titled: “Proof of God in the International Date Line: Site of our Origin”. Recently found was more evidence by others in the story of the manna, that the day is from morning to morning.

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. (John 16:12-14 NIV)​

The Holy Spirit has not led to the wide adoption of the Sabbath from Judaism because it is a "human tradition" for other places outside the Israel time zone. The Holy Spirit has not favored Saturday over Sunday among new Christians because both are traditions made up for those who have not loved the truth in God's word to look for it as hidden treasure. We can do better than Judaism to "remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy"!

You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” (Mark 7:8-13 NIV)​

Sister, I saw the first one on the Sabbath and have seen his series in the past. I met Doug while I studied at Andrews and he had a seminar at Pioneer Memorial Church (PMC). I attended all the meetings and I agree with you that they are really good and a blessing!

As an Adventist, the meaning of the word "evening" is the move from light to darkness that we call sunset. Needing light to move into darkness, isn't it obvious that the "evening" takes place in the middle of the first day?

We have no problem understanding a time before creation week because our prophetess revealed other worlds that did not sin before ours. "In the beginning" is an unspecified time before the light begins the week of creation.

It was the marvel of all the universe that Christ should humble Himself to save fallen man. That He who had passed from star to star, from world to world, superintending all, by His providence supplying the needs of every order of being in His vast creation—that He should consent to leave His glory and take upon Himself human nature, was a mystery which the sinless intelligences of other worlds desired to understand. (Patriarchs and Prophets, page 69)​

Pastor Doug must be really blessed because I don't know how he has the time to do all the things that he does. I am very fortunate to have him as my local pastor and I get a lot from his sermons. I would encourage you to watch the series RevelationsNow! honestly each episode keeps getting better. His sermons have always been good, but I think he is getting better with age. (I have watched him for over 20+ years!)

Btw- my dad also went to Andrews University. I remember living in Michigan as a child.
