Why don't scientists admit that they don't know for sure if we descended from a common ape-like ancestor then?
Because we do know that we share a common ancestor with other apes. Why should scientists pretend that we don't know this?

The poster seems big on making statements and not so willing to support those statements.

Apparently others here are big on making statements and asking questions they have no real interest in. They've demonstrated a complete lack of willingness to read.

Their choice.

What in the world are you talking about? Be careful when you cherry pick Scripture to suit your purposes.
The same advice applies to you when you cherrypick the pleasant-sounding parts of scripture to suit your purposes.

Really? How do you "know" this? Has the evidence been observed and replicated in the lab?

I have done no such thing. Rather I have repeatedly said, search the Scriptures for yourself.

I didn't bring them into the equation. I clearly stated that "Obviously I was referring to the Christians in the video. I didn't think that needed to be spelled out." You are dodging by focusing on this detail instead of the overarching point.

They claim the same about you.

So first you present a strawman of my position and then, when I've called you out for this, you follow up by asking me whether I should agree with the strawman you devised?

Ah, you've met Amariselle then.....!

Much like Yahweh in the Bible.

It doesn't matter whether you think he was acting in obedience to God. The point is that he thought so. He invoked religion as part of the justification for his actions.

Another strawman! Can you please point to the post where I stated that Christians shouldn't speak up against such things?

That's "wilful disobedience" according to your theology, which isn't universal even among Christians, as I already demonstrated by linking to that video earlier.

Oh yes, the video that only provided snippets of conversation from antagonistic "Christians", compared with similar ideology from antagonistic Muslims. Sorry, far from conclusive.

Read the Bible for yourself if you want to know what Jesus really says. Don't take anyone else's word for it.

In relation to our discussion so far, it is fairly conclusive. Remember, the purpose of sharing that video was:
To show you that other "Bible-believing Christians" have differing views to your own. You may disagree with them, but you cannot say that they are not Christians. They are.
Given that there are probably Christian members on this site who harbour similar views to those expressed in the video, please bear in mind that it's against the forum's rules to state or imply that a member who identifies as a Christian is not a Christian.

Good luck in waiting for a straight answer.

Likewise. I have received no straight answers about science and its claims here either. Everyone is too busy making excuses for all the holes in scientific theories.

It is clear I will get no honest answers here.

Have a good day everyone. I'm going out with my family for Father's Day now.

Blessings.

That only works if you are talking about someone specifically. I've done no such thing. Nice try though.

I need to go out with my family now.

Have a nice day. :)

Why don't scientists admit that they don't know for sure if we descended from a common ape-like ancestor then?

You call my terminology "sloppy", I consider such blatant claims on things they haven't even come close to proving "sloppy."

If scientists don't have the answers, they should admit that they don't. Instead, many of them make giant leaps to conclusions that are far from supported by any kind of replicated/repeated observation. Very sloppy.

And yet, you cannot show ONE example of what you claim. If you knew anything about the scientific method, you would know that ALL scientific theories are tentative - that is, NO ONE claims to have had the final definitive word on a matter. The door is always left open for further, or different, data to be included.

This is why scientists never claim to have "proven" a theory. All they offer is the best, current understanding of an issue. That you do not (choose not to?) understand such a basic tenet of the scientific method speaks volumes about the level of scientific literacy you draw upon.

I am well aware of how the rules work. I'm reminding you of them, which I thought you'd appreciate given your concern that all members abide by the rules.

I have supported them. However, if you choose to ignore and dismiss what I've said and instead repeatedly ask the same questions over and over, THAT is telling.

Where have you supported your claims?

Lets take this one; science states with absolute fact, in regards to how life originated.

Still waiting for you to provide scientific sources to show science states with absolute fact, how life originated.

Also, you talk of how science has overstepped their bounds, but for some reason, refuse to give specific examples of this.
