Brought to you by the fine folks over at the "Discovery" Institute. It sounds like a political conspiracy to me. But I honestly have not read much about it.

Scientists have processes for dealing with such issues. Creationists have a Statement of Faith, like that of AiG, which says the following:Just as scientists have been accused by other scientists of misrepresenting scientific "facts". Again, dishonesty is a HUMAN issue, not confined to one particular set of opinions or beliefs.
As I recall, I challenged you to find a single reputable scientific organisation that has something resembling this statement of faith. How is that going?Answers in Genesis said:By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the scriptural record.
I cannot argue with that. However, it just sounds like you are trying to justify people who intentionally misrepresent scripture to defend their arguments against Christianity. When talking about evolution versus creation, it's creationists who are accused by other Christians of misrepresenting Biblical scripture.
Picture did not go through.
In my experience, scientists let creationists present their own understanding of scripture, and they don't tend to challenge them on it unless they too happen to be Christian, but read Genesis non-literally. Sometimes they also point out that many Christians don't read the Bible like creationists do. It's sufficient for the scientist to present the case for evolution, without even touching scripture. But of course the creationist will demand a scriptural justification.I cannot argue with that. However, it just sounds like you are trying to justify people who intentionally misrepresent scripture to defend their arguments against Christianity.

It's basically the reason behind why creationists feel it's ok to lie.

Yeah, we all make mistakes.Well, I don't care what the "Discovery Institute" says, I don't believe it is okay to lie. (Though I freely admit I have made mistakes in my life, I am not okay with my mistakes.) This is why I know I need a Saviour.
Hey, how about that global warming issue? Scientist have been turning that into a political agenda. Blatant dishonesty on both sides. As far as the whole evolution/creation issue, there have been numerous frauds by scientist in order to disprove creationists. Anyone can do a quick Google search and find:Just as scientists have been accused by other scientists of misrepresenting scientific "facts". Again, dishonesty is a HUMAN issue, not confined to one particular set of opinions or beliefs.

Everyone has lied at one point or another, we are ALL guilty of this. Has it happened on these forums?, sure, it likely has. However, I would say that lies (intentional or not) have been told on BOTH sides, not just by "Theists." Placing all of the blame on one group of people is hardly honest in and of itself.
No ma'am. I am referring to Todd. You gave him an answer that he didn't like so now he wants to debate it with you.

What would you suggest she should do? She sounds concerned about honesty to me?Yeah, we all make mistakes.
Although, I'm a little disappointed that you're not concerned that other Christian creationists are playing fast and loose with the facts.
So you never seen any atheist ever misrepresent scripture to further their argument?Because in my experience, the lies I see are only coming from the theists on this board, I'm justified in my position. So my position is completely honest. Can you point to non-theists lying? It might change my mind...
