It is SOP in every combat situation.

We were leaving anyways, the deal that Honest Donald Trump made with the Taliban, last year, called for us to be out by May 1, 2021, (Biden bought us another three months).
I guess no one in the Previous Administration thought to plan for it. (Pure supposition, I’m sure!)

It isn't my 3 step method - it is what the military does when they withdraw from a base. Especially in a hostile area. You can call me any name you want, if that is what makes you sleep better, but I have worn the uniform, I have served. I have had to make decisions where people lives depended on it. I don't know if you did or not, it sure doesn't seem like it.

No clue why they didn't follow the procedure we have been following for the last 60 years. You would have to ask them.
