I seriously doubt the taliban have what it takes to keep up with the proper maintenance of the large vehicles and equipment left behind. Those choppers alone will become death traps to the pilots and crew and be exceedingly difficult to fix without the proper tools, parts and qualified mechanics to keep them going.

Say, how do you prevent military hardware from falling into the hands of the enemy?

1) Never go to war with them
2) Never provide American hardware to another military or insurgent force (to fight)

Military hardware has been exchanging hands in Afghanistan since we first sent stinger missiles to the Mujahideen.
