The Plight of Ostentero

[Paladin Dave]

Vili watched he conversation/confrontation as he shook in his boots. When the forsaken first arrived and demanded that Zalika explain herself, he shouted back at them, "Your hissing and black armor does not exactly releive you of suspicion either!" Then he heard the word "vampire", and another leapt out of the bushes. "Vampyr?! Blodik save us all!" he screamed in terror as he ran around in a cicle, struck stupid with confusion as he tried to find a way out. He turned left. Vampire. He turned right. Vampire. He turned around completely. 5 hissing men in black and red armor. Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, he simply held up his shield and hammer and kept spinning around slowly and nervously.

 

[Lessien]

"Perhaps. I can't deny that I'm a vampire. But I can't deny the fact that I'm fairy as well." She spun around at Tenkana's voice. Another vampire hybrid? He wasn't 1/2 fairy, but still....
She spun around AGAIN at the sound of yet another voice screaming about vampires and Blodik, whatever that was. Zalika sighed as Vili spun around in circles, holding his shield.

 

[Father Niko]

Astador looked at the three and said something to his men and they backed into the forest and waited out of sight. "If every body are so upthight maybe we all should just chill out and leave before blood is drawn" Astador said and backed away into the forest, for he hadent time to fight with those that are decendents the ones that banished his kind into the mountians. He also had a feeling that they would meet again.

 

[Lessien]

Zalika sighed in relief as Astador and his men left. She turned to Tenkana. "Thank you." She noticed that Vili was still spinning in circles. "You can stop spinning now!"

 

[Father Niko]

They made good speed as they headed for a large city know as Citadel. Astador was a drift in his thoughts about the encounter with the to tainted ones, the Forsaken saw them selfs as Pure Bloods and that was only thing that really matterd, thus there were no half breed among their kind.

 

[Paladin Dave]

Vili backed into the bushes, ready to fight back the vampires if needed, but not wanting to fight in the least. "P-please, if you are not of the e-e-evil one... could you perhaps d-direct me towards another creature I am hunting?" he stammered as he ducked in a bush, ready to bolt.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

"It depends if the creature you are hunting is one of us." Replied Tenkana humorusly. He then turned to Zalika and said, "It was not problem at all. My tribe isn't having me do anything right now and I figure that any enemy of those people is a friend of mine." He then approached her and sheathed his sword. "So who are you are what's your business around here?" He said to her, remembering how he was taught that some willingly betray their own kind.

 

[Lessien]

Zalika smiled, showing her tiny white fangs. "My name's Zalika. I'm trying to find my parents. Only they can answer my questions. Who are you?"

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

"My name is Tenkana. My mother and father were slaves of a Centaur tribe." He said, recalling his past servitude under the Centaur tribe. "Now, I am part of the Midnight Hunters tribe, a tribe of Vampire/Phoenix Hybrids. However, if you wish to join, you'd be very welcome."

 

[Lessien]

"Thank you for your offer," Zalika said, "but I'm a Vampire/Fairy hybrid. I don't think I'd be very welcome in your tribe...." As she spoke, her delicate silver wings opened and closed once, without her noticing.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

"Are you in a hurry?" said Tenkana, noticing her wings open and close.

 

[Lessien]

"No...." She then realized her wings had opened, then closed. Stupid wings.... "Kind of subconcious, ya know?" she said, referring to the wings.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

Tenkana laughed a hearty laugh. "Well, that's okay. So, since you aren't really heading in a certain direction right now, perhaps you it would be better if we traveled together for a little bit in case those men return." He said, making a quick glance around, being briefly reminded that a strange man ((Vili)) was still around.

 

[Lessien]

Zalika nodded. "Good idea." A quick glance around confirmed that Vili was still there. He was almost hidden, and an ordinary person might've missed him. But Zalika's ruby eyes were keener than any mortal's.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

"I'll lead." Tenkana offered and set off through the bushes back to where he came from.

 

[Lessien]

Should I trust him? He seems alright.....Zalika shrugged and followed.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

Tenkana walked for about 15 minutes toward the closest village under his tribe's control without talking to Zalika expect for the occasional "watch your step around here" and "watch out for that pit". Finally, he said, "So you have no idea where your mother and father are?" hoping he wasn't being insensitive.

((Oh, boy. Here we go again. Why do my charaters always have to be so sensitivity-deaf?))

 

[Lessien]

"No." She tried to keep the edge out of her voice at Tenkana's lack of sensitivity.

 

[Soldier_For_Christ]

Tenkana could tell she was holding back a little anger at the question and decided to try to correct himself. "If it helps you, I didn't know my parents either. They were sold to a slave dealer when I was just a baby. I searched for them for a while, too." Tenkana was only barely bothered by talking about his parents, for that part of his heart and mind were at peace. He had decided taht he wouldn't spend a great deal of his life looking for the slightest trace of them and instead decided that fate had taken care of them.
