i'm upset about Phish breaking up too. I'm not a crazy fan, but i do think they are genuises and they rule. i've seen them twice and each night it was awesome. trey is one my heroes, he is just a musical genuis and general good person. did anyone see when him and Dave Matthews went to Africa? i taped it, it was so cool. i will mourn the loss of Phish. oh, by the way, there is a book about a guy who followed Phish on the road called "running like the antelope" or "running with the antelope" (something along those lines) that was a great book, all Phish fans should most definetly check it out. I'm putting on "round room" (my favorite phish song) now.... Tear.

IT DVD OUT ON OCTOBER 12 -- FEATURES OVER FOUR HOURS OF MUSIC 08.02.04

PHISH will release IT, a deluxe 2-DVD set, in stores on October 12. Disc 1 showcases the ninety-minute feature program (which debuts tonight on PBS -- see below) as well as 3 bonus interview segments. Disc 2 includes over 150 minutes of additional uncut performance footage plus an extensive photo gallery with a special soundtrack put together by the staff of "The Bunny".

Shot in breathtaking high-definition video, the program combines exclusive interviews interwoven with live material. The program was produced by an award-winning production team, including producer/director Mary Wharton, 2003 Grammy award-winner for her documentary "Legend" on the life of singer Sam Cooke and the editing team of Thom Zimny, who won an Emmy for his work on Bruce Springsteen's "Live in New York City" and editor Alex Hall. The concert footage was directed by Eli Tishberg, a veteran of several Phish projects and who also recently directed Phish's Keyspan Park theater simulcast in June. Also part of the production team is sound engineer and five-time Grammy Award winner Elliot Scheiner, a pioneer in 5.1 technology, who mixed both the stereo and surround sound tracks.

This looks neat! and only 23 dollars. sounds good to me!

Hi Mandapanda!

oh cool you saw them twice. I bet it was a cool experiance. The Trey and Dave go to africa special was really cool. Anything with the names Trey and Dave together is bound to be sweet. :)
I havent listened to "Round room" before, I think I'll give it a listen.

I caught that on Monday night -- very cool. An interesting look into how they think about their music and improvisation. Also includes what I thought was a darn good version of "You Enjoy Myself," which is undeniably the greatest song Phish ever made ;)

Yeeahh we have another phan!! Glad to have you around Manda!
Which shows did you go to?

did anyone see when him and Dave Matthews went to Africa? i taped it, it was so cool.
I taped it too, it was great! Trey was like a little kid, he was fascinated by everything! I think he was about to cry when they went to the old slave building.

i will mourn the loss of Phish. oh, by the way, there is a book about a guy who followed Phish on the road called "running like the antelope" or "running with the antelope" (something along those lines) that was a great book, all Phish fans should most definetly check it out.
It is an awesome book. I bought it for my friend's birthday gift, luckily I got it 2 days before his B-day so I had time to read the whole thing :).
"The Phish Book" is also pretty cool, its the band talking about all sorts of stuff. Cool pictures and band history too.

I'm putting on "round room" (my favorite phish song) now.... Tear.
I like that song too....its an insight into the crazy mind of Mike Gordon :)

Hmm I might have to make a "false beginner's" quiz....that level where you're good with elementary but can't quite handle intermediate....:) :)

ALERT: THE FORECAST IN COVENTRY 08.12.04

The rain continues to fall steadily here in the Northeast Kingdom, and the forecast calls for steady rain all day tomorrow. The festival staff is working as hard as they can to move cars off the road and into the campgrounds, but the weather has greatly hindered this process, and traffic is considerably backed up.

For those of you who have not yet departed for COVENTRY, we strongly urge you to not approach the site until Saturday morning or at least Friday night. It’s greatly in your interest to delay your arrival – you will save yourself a great deal of stress and time and help us keep the roads safe. Finally, please call friends that you know may be heading to Coventry and help us spread the word.

uh oh........

I went to the Phish show at Camden!! Second to last ever!

But sadly, as I posted in another thread, I got too drunk/stoned and I missed most of the show. I only know a few songs anyway, and they played all of the ones I really like at the last show and as most of you probably know they don't play the same songs over in a row.

What was the deal at the Coventry show? I heard police were turning people away or something? man, I would have flipped.
