  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When my wife was in grade school in Portland, OR, she would pick berries with a bunch of her school mates. A bus would come pick them up and take them out to the fields.

Today, I think this would be called 'child labor'.

I'm an hour south of portland, and I have a lot of friends my age who grew up picking berries on farms in their early and later teenage years.

Explain how this is "promoting abortion". It was one abortion that took place decades ago, and we're using a by-product of that life for science. The child was not, to my knowledge, killed for the purpose of testing junk food. Additional abortions are not being procured for this purpose.

It is not a sin to use products that were enhanced by testing on aborted cell tissue. I think it's distasteful, and would try to avoid them, and it could be a pious act to not eat such products. But as I said, if this was the case, that it's a sin to knowingly use products created this way, we can never use any product produced by human hands, because ultimately, we're all sinful. You couldn't even eat food you cooked and grew yourself.

We pick berries every June & July here. We have wild raspberries & blackberries growing all over our property. Got to watch the chiggers though. They love those plants!

It's worth it though. Makes great cobbler & you can freeze the berries.

Perhaps, but that "yuck factor" alone is worth the boycott. Tell them why they are being boycotted and they just might decide that it would be more profitable *not* to use aborted fetal cell tissue and decide to treat life with a little bit of dignity instead of in just a utilitarian way.

Just an FYI their are no Fetal Cells used in the making of the product.

What was done was the cells were used in Testing / Creating a Chemical Compound.

Now that this compound is created, they don't use the cells in making more of it.
