Let's see, it's all right for Hamas to kidnap and kill innocents, brutally murder other civilian Israelis, and target school busses as well as rain down missals on the Israeli civilian population, make tunnels into Israel using cement from the U.N. for schools, fire missals into Israel from the rooftops of civilian apartment buildings and/or hospitals (and even bread carts) and use women and children as human shields and it's all the Israelis fault?

BTW the U.S. has not only given aid to Hamas (not Israel) but has even put a temporary ban on aircraft flying into Tel Aviv thereby disrupting the tourist industry for a couple of days and causing a dampening effect when Europe followed suit. Then there was Kerry's biased comment about Israel (and HE tried to broker peace?! No wonder the deal was so anti-Israel. Oh well, Hamas didn't go for it either, though that's not surprising because Hamas doesn't WANT peace.)

Yes you are, absolutely.

I don't think so.

Israel is addicted to US Tax dollars and America is happy to continue to supply the drug once they think Israel is under threat from a rinky dink military force like Hamas.

The only way to keep the wool over the State Department's eyes is to ensre Hamas keeps firing their two bit missiles.

How do you ensure that? Massacre Palestinian women and children every few years...

BTW, does anyone know WHY the US closed air traffic to Israel? I heard it was because one of Hamas' missals landed on a house that was close to the airport. That little factoid wasn't picked up by the media, even though it's known that Hamas just indiscriminately fires it's rockets into Israel while Israel first drops leaflets warning of the attack so Hamas civilians can leave the area, then they send text messages, and they even phone about a prospective attack, and I've even seen where the Israelis call off an attack if they still see women and children in the area. Does Hamas or any other country that was attacked go to such lengths to protect innocents? You can bet not.

Who said that? Name them or retract your dishonest statement.

The people who are anti-Israel and go out of their ways to find fault with Israel protecting itself, it's people, and ending the ability of Hamas to continue with its attacks against Israel. The statement is NOT dishonest. Israel was attacked first. She is only ending the ability of Hamas to continue the attacks against her.

How did this current round of hostilities begin? I notice no mention from you or the liberal media in regards to the Israeli boys who were kidnapped and murdered.

Me or the liberal media? Go look back to the thread about the kidnaped boys and see my comments on it. I have never at any time excused Hamas of their evils and again right now, for the umpteenth time, declare that Hamas is guilt of countless murders and is taking part in grave evils. That doesn't not excuse evils on the part of Israel, however.

So If I slap you in the mouth, and you decide to defend yourself, then you are only contributing to my hatred of you? Where is the logic in that?

I would not respond violently to a slap in the mouth from you or any person. Should you elect to slap me I will turn the other cheek. I would defend innocents directly from a deadly attacks from you, but I would not respond by lobbing bombs into your neighborhood hoping to get you.

The logic in Just War Doctrine is not human logic, but Divine.

I would rather die defending myself than sit around in cowardice and fear.

How poetic. I would rather Serve Christ to the end, sentiment is of no value to me.

You respond to "name them" with a surprising lack of names. You also display a remarkable belief that if Israel continues to respond to Hamas like it has for decades, it will "end the ability" of Hamas to act as it has for decades.

So your solution is for Israel to do nothing.

This just in.......you're not the post police. You don't get to tell people what they should stand by or what they should retract. In case there's any confusion.

No, that is not my sollution and you are, not surprisingly, spreading a falsehood. I have stated on several occasions that I support Israeli efforts to go after those specific individuals who attack her while also protecting civilians and treating Palestinians in general better. Killing civilians is immoral and causes future strife. Both sides are guilty of killing civilians, and both must be called on it. The Church has detailed for us the conditions under which war is morally acceptable, and both sides in this conflict fall short.

Here are some facts with links all on one page that support what would be considered injustices toward the State of Palestine, as Pope Francis has referred, and the Palestinian people.
You may think it one-sided, but everything we read and hear in the news is mostly one-sided. At least read it and get a different view and then if you still believe as you do, at least you can say you looked at all the facts.
We now can see how rashly Netanyahu acted in response to the killing of the three teenagers that wasn't perpetrated by Hamas as I previously posted, which resulted in this latest attack and so many killings of innocents

That is one-sided indeed, and is every bit the short-sighted propaganda piece that Eastcoast posted. The truth, of course, is in the middle. Hamas does commit atrocities. Israel does commit atrocities.

I (and many others) stand with Israel in her protecting herself from Hamas' aggression. Reminder for those who do not stand with any country who is just trying to protect herself and end the violence: you could be next and then there will be no one to stand with you against the violence.

Hamas is a terrorist organization and their charter is for the destruction of the Jews. (Read it yourselves.) BTW I don't understand why the US gives Hamas aid--its supposed to be against the law BECAUSE they are a terrorist organization.

So basically anyone who disagrees with you is one-sided and wrong. Got it. Make sure you continue to call for truth, OK?

It is one-sided. But this thread is mostly one-sided. The point being, we have to critically look at all sides. If we can believe the NYmag article, this latest escalation appears to have been the result of Netanyahu acting without investigation.

Let me say that I am not accusing anyone on this thread, but I have seen a biblical quote in another thread on BYOB regarding Israel. I think we all know and have friends that will support Israel at all costs, based on their interpretation of Scriptures, alone. I will leave that alone.

I don't think you do "got it". We have been gifted the Truth through Christ's Church. We know what is and is not legitimate defense and just war. It is quite clear that neither side in this conflict is behaving in a morally just way.
