U2 does not have a regular sound, they are always growing.....
While I agree with you that they are always growing it always seems to me that they have have this distinct sound, a sound which you can pick out in almost any of thier songs, no matter how different it may be if you listen hard enough.

Ah, I'd love to get U2:7.
Do you not have a Target where you are, Andre?

and went it comes to Walk On/Hallelujah, nothing beats the live versions where Bono sings that. Just awesome!
Too true.:)

Alright. I have "All that you can't leave behind" and "The Best of 1980 - 1990" I love all of The Best of and some of All That You Can't, but I want more! What should I buy! I want to get Joshua Tree and War, but what should I really buy to get my Bono and Edge on?
Definetly start with The Joshua Tree.:)

And wheres Janine?

www.atu2.com has some recent news about the album, sounds very exciting. I don't know how reliable their source is, but the article quotes:

As for the album, a fan who recently returned from Dublin was fortunate to be able to hear 12 new songs (probably the whole album!) and says "They're fantastic!!! Two are ballads, and three are pure rock, very fast rhythm. One has "Electrical Storm"'s guitar riff, I suppose it's the same as another fan told it is between "Electrical Storm" and "Beautiful Day." One has a bluesy tone and the others are more melodic. Two have a very powerful bass line." (Thanks to K and R for reports....)

‘It Doesn’t Seem Credible...’

U2.com, July 15, 2004

Edge has spoken of his astonishment that a CD containing some songs from the band’s new album has gone missing after a photo session.

Speaking to U2.Com, Edge said, 'A large slice of two years work lifted via a piece of round plastic. It doesn't seem credible but that's what's just happened to us...and it was my CD.'

The CD went missing during a photo-shoot in the south of France. The band recently completed much of the recording of the highly anticipated new album in Dublin and have been involved in post-production work in France.

It will be the first new studio album from U2 since All That You Can’t Leave Behind nearly four years ago.

French police have already launched a major investigation.

'The recording of this album has been going so well.' added Paul McGuinness of Principle Management. 'The band is so excited about its release. It would be a shame if unfinished work fell into the wrong hands.'

'This matter is of great concern to us.' said Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group UK. 'As the missing CD is our property, we're very keen find it as soon as possible and the French Police are being extremely helpful in this regard.'

To clarify something, U2:7 was only sold in the US. Therefore, Axver couldn't get it, and neither could I. It's a real shame. I know a couple of people who got friends in the US to buy it and post it to them, so I think I'll do that.

By the way, hello, another U2 fan over here! I've lurked on CF for a long time but I haven't ventured in here. But all this music talk made me want to register ... so I did.

Yes, or at least similar. The Axtung Beibi Out-takes were produced from much earlier material and consisted mainly of jam sessions more than songs (though some of the songs on there are truly brilliant, such as Take You Down), while it sounds like a complete CD was stolen here, though not necessarily in the final track order. However, I am beginning to think it was merely lost. I hope so anyway. The band doesn't need another Axtung Beibi.

Either way it will not hurt anything, I have at least 150 U2 bootlegs, I also have all of their commercial releases on cd and vinyl from 50 countries.... I would buy both.....

Yeah, so am I. I can't wait for the new material and we will hopefully have an announcement very soon. General consensus is we will have definite news by the beginning of September.
Release will be in November......

Long time no-see guys. Hello One Tree Hill. Your name is one of my most favorite songs by U2.
That list you posted popsadie is interesting. I have never heard any of those titles floating around, except for Vertigo and Sometimes you Can't Make it. Its strange I did not here of these titles on interference first.

I like City of Burning Lights. Its a classic U2 title.

I feel a particular connection with the song. One of the best ever made, and I say the 26 December 1989 performance in Dublin is a candidate for best live performance of any song by any band.

New song titles have been confirmed by U2.com, with slight amendments to Q's list;

- Yahweh
- A Man And A Woman
- City Of Blinding Lights

Besides A Man And A Woman, I think they're great titles. Vertigo is to radio on 24 September but will likely leak sooner. Album is out on 22 November (or 23 if you live in North America; apparently the 17th in Norway and Japan).
