Oh, and one more thing. I think my favorite line from the whole CD is from "Yahweh".

"Take this mouth, so quick to criticise. Take this mouth, give it a kiss."

It wasn't at all what I expected to hear, and it made me laugh. But it's so perfect, because we all need to be kissed by God!

Mary
It's a funny line that, I didn't know the meaning of it until you said about being kissed by God. It makes perfect sense! I was thinking of putting it in my sig at one stage. Another good part of the song is at 4.07 when he sings

Still I’m waiting for the dawn
Still waiting for the dawn
The sun is coming up
The sun is coming up on the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean

Once I heard it a few times over it gave me goosebumps, the way he sings "This love is like a drop in the ocean" it goes faster with Edges guitar and hits a climax.

I have no clue what "Fast Cars" is about, though.
I don't either.Bono, Edge and Adam have given their thoughts on every track of the album on U2.com, but theres $40 subscription fee. And theres no way I'm subscribing to that after whats been going on.

The lyrics seem very similar to Xanax And Wine which must be an early version.

But heres a quote from Bono on Q magazine: "We did this on the very last day in the studio. It was really just for fun, but it came out so well it'll be an extra track on the record in some countries".

My favorite song on HTDAAB is City of Blinding Lights. Kind of reminds me of The Unforgettable Fire.
Yes. It's one of my favourite songs off the album too. And The Unforgettable Fire is a masterpiece, I'm about to put it on. Luckly I have one of those Original master recordings of the album.

Unforunatly not. And I didn't get it back either because that class got cancelled, stupid snow!
Darn. I hope you get it back from your friend, I've loaned out plenty of things and never had them returned.

As for the tour news, all UK tour dates have been sold out. http://www.rte.ie/arts/2005/0128/u2.html

It dosen't suprize me, they're not doing nearly as many dates as popmart which were all stadiums. Now thier doing "tiny" arenas with stadiums and the fact they have a bigger fan-base now. I'm confused.

I'm not worried about it not getting returned seeing as I let my teacher borrow it...I'm gonna call her tomorrow and see if I can get it back...I need to hear Pride and Sunday Bloody Sunday more! Anyway any tour date by me is sold out , and they were playing 3 shows in the Fleetcenter which holds about 60,000 people...U2 is big... :D

Anyone here going to watch the Grammy's? U2's up for 3 categories.

I think they their only going to win one or two such as "best music video" and best "rock performance" I really do think vertigo isn't the best rock song they've done recently, it's not even half as good as "Elevation" which won plenty of awards. I'm tipping greenday will win "best rock song" though I'd like to see U2 sweep them all.

Next year I can see U2 winning best song for "sometimes" and best album.

The string arrangement at the end of 'All I Want Is You' is brilliant. Memorable clip too.

Probably the best finish to a U2 album ahead of 'Yahweh'.

The whole song is brilliant :) Definitely the best finish a to a U2 album. I'd rank Yahweh the second best.

Rattle and Hum is an awesome album! Though POPmart is my favorite for live stuff, If you ever decide to get a video concert get "live from mexico city". During popmart most of their old songs were reconstructed and have a different sound and feeling to them.

I'm also loving with or without you, I remember Edge explaining how different it sounds, that it doesn't sound like It's coming from a 80's mentality. Yet it's a staple on the radio.

If anyone here has not seen the new "sometimes" video, download it from here http://u2.com/home.php (It's from the official site)

I'd like to hear people's thoughts on it. I personally think it's the best music video they've done since "all I want is you". Sometimes you can't make it on your own matches the quality to anything on the Joshua Tree. This band has been around for longer than 20 years and their bringing out their best work....They are the batman and robin of rock and roll. No one compares. ;)

I wasn't a fan of the Pop album but I love the Popmart video...it's a shame I never got to see the show live.:(

I like the re-jigged guitar and piano sounds on I Will Follow and New Year's Day, but I'm afraid I'm a purest when it comes to Streets. ;)

It was one of the greatest nights of my life.

At the time I didn't know much about the setlists for the ZooTV concerts (no internet back then :D) so I didn't know whether they had completely dumped the old stuff I loved.

But I squealed like a little girl when I heard the baseline for New Years Day.

Zoo Station and The Fly was an incredible opening to the show with all the screens going, Dirty Day and Bullet the Blue Sky were nice and loud and Streets and Pride together were brilliant and the encore was great (although we waited for about 20-30 mins for it).

I wasn't far from the small stage where they did the acoustic set and you can see a bit of my face during 'Stay'.

I was living in the Northern Territory when the Popmart tour was on...I hope I can get a ticket for the Veritgo tour, I've got to pay airfares on top of it though.
