Which would be a heresy, something the Church beleived & taught for 2000 years or something only made popular after the protestant revolt?

Something that violates the clear teaching of scripture. In this case, the heresy that they were trying to combat, that Jesus is not God, and the heresy that they introduced to combat the heresy that Jesus is not God, the heresy that Mary is God's mother.

I'll trust the early Church fathers of whom some even knew the apostles themselves.

Not everything is written in God's Word. Some things were passed down orally. The Bible states this.

It doesnt. It actually says the CHURCH is the sole authority, and the pillar and foundation of truth.

For someone who subscribes to the Bible, I find it impossible to ignore this. One of the many reasons I became a Catholic.

I am part of the one holy catholic apostolic church..But I use a small c as meaning universal and not one certain physical institution..If what you say is true one church is in serious error..Personally, I think if the Catholic and Orthodox would mend their ways it would ripple thru all of christianity.

The Gospel is the same in all respectable denominations. This is the power of God. Regardless of our differences there is ONE GOD.

I sorta think they both will hear well done my good and faithful servant..Remember God is no respecter of persons ..The least can be the greatest..The are both brothers in Christ and will be in heaven so yes I think they could both be in the same sentence..
