Well, obviously I hate music. Obviously I just spend my time "getting off" by criticizing indie kids, because endlessy arguing with obnoxious, self-satisfied idiots like theFijian is really worth my time and not frustrating and annoying to me...
Look man, I really don't care that you people listen to whatever it is that you listen to. I've consistently tried to be civil and make peace with everyone here (except theFijian, of course) but you'd all still rather lash out at me than just simply disagree with me. I've always spoken passionately (sorry to use such a cliché word, but I can't think of a more appropriate one at the moment) about things that I'm passionate about, and the majority of the people on this thread can't deal with someone who doesn't just sit back and agree with everyone else when they post. The best music conversations I've had with fellow music lovers is ones where we sit and debate over the merits and importance of certain bands and artists, and when two people are passionate about said subject matter, they often get overly-pumped (and to some degree, self-righteous, I'll admit) during the course of these conversations. But, like blackwasp said, it's "all in good fun." I thought that bringing that "carefree, all-in-good-fun, music-lover atmosphere" here would fly, but I was obviously sadly mistaken. If you people want to play the victim here, fine, I'm through trying to stop you. I've taken myself far less seriously than most of the people here (go read my first post on this thread if you don't believe me, it's ridiculously over-the-top), but if you want to twist my words around to sound like I'm attacking you, go right on ahead. Blackwasp initiated a debate with me, and since my style is to be somewhat abrasive, everyone had to practically pee their pants over it. Next time anyone sends me an invitation to respond to them on this website, I'll be a pansy about it so as not to make any waves, and that way everyone can be happy that I haven't disturbed the delicate balance of mutual ass-kissing. And my last few posts have been pretty mellow (with all the cheekiness promptly removed, since it consistently seems to be lost on each and every one of you), taken down a considerable notch, pleeing for peace and civility, if nothing else. I only get legitimately annoyed when somebody makes an absolutely insane claim like saying that Bright Eyes or other such bands qualify as folk---but I guess that's not even allowed. Oh well, peace to you all, and I look forward to reading the indignant response posts sure to follow containing sentiments along the lines of, "Well, EXCUUUUSE US for being offended, but you ATTACKED us!"
