Of course I don't mind! Looks great!

Thanks! Your CF character is making me hungry for Candy Canes!

I didn't make it on the bike yesterday, but I did shovel the snow out of the dog kennel, and play with the dog for a bit.

HOHOHO! Everyone!

If any of the huffpuffers are checking in, I'm here to "whoooohoooo" you, but it is with a sneeze, hack and that sound we all make when we blow our noses. I've caught something that is in my chest, head and throat, but not influenza (had my shot on Halloween), plus a sinus infection, so I am on antibiotics and making a lot of warm lemon and honey.

My whooohooo goal today is to still get all of my mommy obligations done (because stay-at-home-moms don't get sick days), and sneak in a nap. That'll include getting 6 loads of laundry up and down a stairway, and that will just have to be enough huff-huff-puff-puff for me for the day.

Stay healthy friends! Wash your hands!

Is this thread only for get-off-yer-bums-and-do-somethings (which I need!) or are you ladies interested in sharing about better eating strategies?

My husband (because I'm in charge of the food prep) and I have been changing over to a more organic diet the past 6 weeks or so. I'm amazed at the changes in my body, just eating differently (not dieting). The change has taken a lot of my time and energy, then I came down with some respiratory virus thing... And a week out-of-town at my brother's wedding...

I have a bit more recouping to do, then I would like to add in intentional exercise again.

I'm so excited that I've been able to kick this illness. Since I've had diabetes, the past few years, I've not been able to get over a respiratory illness without antibiotics. ...Until now! I'm am so rejoicing in God that in such a short time, my body is getting better - without the meds.

I had asked the Lord to just heal me, but I'm certain that He wanted me to see that my choices have a lot to do with my health. It's not that I didn't know that, but I think I'm ready to be more responsible with this "earthly tent" I live in. It took a lot of emotional healing for me to even much care about my own body.

Ten years ago I lost close to 100 pounds just changing my diet and exercising. But I still felt fat, even though my clothes size wasn't. That's some of the emotional stuff I was talking about. I gained a lot, but not all of it back after keeping it off for three years.

Something inside me feels differently now. Maybe as I'm taking on more responsibility for my body again, the outside will begin to reflect what is on the inside.

I'll have to start doing some of my old tricks like parking further away from the store to get more exercise, taking stairs instead of elevators, and things like that.

Blessings to you all. -PW

Welcome  and you are on the right track. This thread simply for us Fab40s to encourage each other to take healthier approaches for our bodies, and have fun while we do. No matter how big, small, or what the strategy is. AND NO GUILT OR JUDGEMENT IS ALLOWED HERE!

We all need differing approaches for differing life-styles, body-types, abilities, etc.

AND sometimes when we put things in words, and tell others about our plans, it can help motivate us to go after that daily goal.

The most important thing is to have fun with what you are doing, feel good about yourself where you are at in your life right now, and know you have a cheering section here at CF....even if your goal is to just step outside for fresh air on a day when you are at your lowest.

Oh, By the way WHHHHOOOOOHOOOOO! Because it sounds like you are enjoying your new nutritional strategy.

HuffHuffPuffPuff, I am feeling less sick, can breath better, and plan to do a short walk with the dog today. It will feel good to get some fresh air, and I haven't had much buddying up time with her with the holiday rush and this nasty cold I have.

Good morning CF friends!

Woke up this morning and me and my daughter have what you had faithmom.

Quick trick for you when the croupy laryngitis hits. Make a pot of tea. Pour the water over sliced lemon and honey, (with a small candy cane or mint leaves if you want to feel some holiday spirit). Then in a pan, put a smear of Vix on a paper towel, put a bath towel over your head, pour the water in the pan, and you have a cheap, instant vapor tent to breath over.

Then drink the warm (ad ice if need be, very hot is not good for a rough throat) lemon and honey a few minute later.

God bless and heal!

Well,

It's summer here but you wouldn't know it. Still snow down to about 600 metres (1800 or so feet) and regular hail / heavy rain storms.

Oh and BTW my body is more of a warehouse!

Does all of that make you a facility for cold storage?^_^ (yeah, I know, I'm not that funny, but I try...)

lol! You're too cute! :D :D :D

I wasn't very cute once I dragged out those donations....it's pretty dusty in that crawl space.

My husband wasn't very cute either, when he found out that I had overpacked the cardboard boxes, and he needed to carry them to my car. ^_^

My huffhuffpuffpuff goal for today is to unload all those boxes, then walk the mall doing some shopping. I will limit myself to only one Starbucks small mint mocha, and if I go into withdrawl for more, the rest will have to be non-fat fake hazelnut sweetener lattes (the nutmeg sprinkle jazzes it up a bit).

Time to go change out of my Costume from yesterday.

My huffhuffpuffpuff goal for today is to sign off CF and GO TO THE GYM! It's amazingly difficult to get there the weeks before Christmas and at the same time candy, pastries and desserts are showing up EVERYWHERE! Good Luck to everyone one else trying to stave off the pounds over this Christmas season!

Hey how did I miss this thread?! Well I am glad I found it. We will be going out to dinner tonight and I promise to leave off the bread and potatoes. Actually a big salad sounds pretty good. I will use a lite dressing. Tomorrow I will start walking.
