The "holy place" Abomination of Desolation

What holy place today had a body?

I'm inclined to wonder whether the "holy place" is actually the body of Christ, with the AoD being apostasy in the Church; keeping in mind that Jesus was the 'image' of the living God and Adam was made in the 'image' of God, it is not impossible that the 'image of the beast' is the beast-church (ie: the Church in apostasy).
