Now that is a very strange thing to call attention to considering what the Dems have done and are intending to do as far as spending goes.

The democrats have nothing to do with Trumps policies and the idea they are fiscally conservative.

The Democratic Party will certainly hope that the Republicans select Trump to run for the Presidency in 2024. He is a divisive factor in the Republican Party; there will surely be rival contenders whose characters Trump will attack, thus dividing the party even more. Indeed, he has already attacked the Leader of the Senate opposition and several prominent Republicans round the country.
Who knows maybe he will follow the Obama example and let a front man take all the heat while he pulls the strings.

Maybe the Democrats will repeal the 22nd and run Obama up against Trump?
Perhaps.
An off-chance.

They are not as powerful as they think they are so that will not happen, but if it did Trump would not have any problem winning by simply pointing to the many mistakes that Obama made.

Yes, it’d be an interesting race.

The Left in the US is probably center right in most of the developed nations on earth.

The Democratic Party is certainly regarded as centre-right here in the UK.

I don't think Americans generally understand that there are socialist parties that have nothing in common with Communist regimes either present or historic. A search of European democratic socialist political parties will bear this out.

we are aware that there is a difference between the socialism that we see in Europe and the socialism we see in Cuba and Venezuela. Unfortunately those who have lived in those countries are now warning us that what the progressives in our nation are trying to implement is what ruined the countries they previously lived in, they say they recognize every step that is developing.

There is a need to distinguish 'the left' and 'progressives' from the Democratic Party as seen in the House of Representatives and White House. I believe the conflation is misleading and from some Republican sources, disingenuous.

The USA is not remotely likely to vote for a Cuban style economy.

Oh? Who are "those who have lived in those countries," what are their names and what exactly are they warning?

Regardless of any negative assertions, Trump is very much supported by his party and there can be no doubt it still is and will continue to be his party.

Yet trump lost. And continues his divisive rhetoric of "election fraud". This is an excuse for his lack of humility and it undermines American democracy. Republicans would do well to acknowledge his loss and try to create a platform to help their constituency, not help trump! Trump is out for personal revenge, not working for us. I can't understand how this fact eludes so many. Willful ignorance it seems. Peace

Ted Cruz? No, thank you. In fact, I would like to see Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and the rest of the yes-man Trump sycophants either voted out or forced to resign. As far as I am concerned, every single one of them deserves a Day of Reckoning in the next election that will determine their future in Congress. I would fully support removing every single Republican politician who sold out to Trump. I wouldn't have any sympathy for them whatsoever if they are voted out. I would say good riddance and think "Don't let the door hit you on your way out!" I think the sooner the GOP is freed from the clutches of Donald Trump and all the yes-man Republican politicians who sit happily in his pocket, the better.

The GOP will probably never when another election again, then. Like it or not, the Trump voters are there to stay. Might as well actually hear out their grievances and try to work them.

We need to understand that 40% of the voters can give us a Republican Senate and House.

The key to the future is the protection of democracy through the protection of voting rights and elections.

Now that the stimulus/COVID bill will bring the economy and schools back, we need to focus on the #1 issue: voting rights.

It wouldn't bother me if the GOP (under Trump's control) never won another election again. As I said yesterday, if the only way to save the Republican Party from Trump and his loyalists is to let it crash and burn, then so be it. FWIW, I've heard the complaints of Trump supporters for the last five years.

I've also heard some of the most loyal Trump supporters maliciously insult me with profanity, mock me, attack my character and my Christian faith, and call me a traitor to my country. I was even told that I'm going to hell because I voted for Biden and I voted for Biden because I'm obviously demon possessed. I have relatives who have turned their backs on me and they no longer speak to me. I've had other conservatives I've known for years turn against me. In the last 5 years, I've endured a lot of hatred and malice from so many of the Trump supporters I either know personally or I've had the misfortune of meeting online. TBH, I think I've heard more than enough from Trump supporters.

Yes, there is a lot of anger coming from both sides. That's a sad fact of the current state of American politics.

While many Trump supporters did get carried away with their rhetoric and actions, I don't find it a stretch to say that they have some valid grievances.

Any validity they had vanished on January 6.

The Democrats don't seem angry to me; scornful, even triumphant, yes - they would say with justice after the vilification of their candidates. The anger is coming hot and strong from the Trump camp. It is expressed in the Senate's determination to block everything it can at a cost to the American people - even their own supporters; Trump's own vicious attacks on the characters of prominent Republicans and the desperate attempts by Republican state legislatures to make it as hard as possible for Democratic supporters to exercise their democratic right to vote.

What grievances? Losing?

That wasn't supposed to happen.

Not even St. Jude, patron of hopeless cases?
St. Jude is also one of the patron saints of the Armenian Church, but that's an unfortunate coincidence as he's the patron saint of hopeless causes because sometimes it feels that way for Armenia.

By all means, the GOP needs to oust the corporatists and big-gov members from their ranks. More Ted Cruz and Rand Pauls...give Romney to the Democrats.
Ted Cruz and Rand Paul aren't corporatists? LOL, since when???
