The growth in the annual deficit under Trump ranks as the third-biggest increase, relative to the size of the economy, of any U.S. presidential administration.
During “boom times”, no less.

Now that is a very strange thing to call attention to considering what the Dems have done and are intending to do as far as spending goes.

Regardless of any negative assertions, Trump is very much supported by his party and there can be no doubt it still is and will continue to be his party.

The Democratic Party will certainly hope that the Republicans select Trump to run for the Presidency in 2024. He is a divisive factor in the Republican Party; there will surely be rival contenders whose characters Trump will attack, thus dividing the party even more. Indeed, he has already attacked the Leader of the Senate opposition and several prominent Republicans round the country.

The Republican vote is likely to shrink as more moderate and traditional Republicans shrink from the stink Trump is stirring up.

On the other hand the Democratic vote will hold up and increase, especially in Republican seats where the most reactionary measures to suppress the vote are being passed. People don't like that kind of tinkering with their rights.

Then the 2020 elections will be the first of many GOP failures to come.

Good. As long as Donald Trump is the center of GOP's political universe, then I hope the Republican Party continues to fail in the 2022 mid-term elections and the 2024 presidential election. I'd love to see Trumpism crumble to the ground even if that means the Republican Party splits in the process.

The problem is that if Donald fails again, he's going to spread Another Big Lie to distract from it, and the last one led to storming the Capitol.

And Donald's followers can learn from their mistakes -- up to a point, of course. They'll still fall the Next Big Lie, but they'll be more prepared to act on it the next time... they might actually do some serious damage.

Remember -

But one number almost always goes unheard: more than 1,030 seats.

That's the number of spots in state legislatures, governor's mansions and Congress lost by Democrats during Obama's presidency.

In many ways the current administration is a continuation of the Obama reign. The decisions being made at the White House, while popular with a number on the far left - they don't sit well with a number of his own party members.

I would not be at all surprised that the party looses a number of seats on both houses in 2022.

What has this White House done that the “far left” (hint: this country doesn't have a left party, let alone a “far left one), should be enamored with?

hint - yes it does and if you cannot recognize what is widely spoken of I have no frame of reference you would understand.

Do you really believe that a YUGE segment of “the left” in this country wants to nationalize industries?

...actually no it doesn't. The Left in the US is probably center right in most of the developed nations on earth.

That is what they are taught by the Rightwing media. But what they don't know is that really we all just want to force everyone to have a sex-change operation and be forced to gay-marry. Oh yeah and EVERYONE has to have a mandatory abortion. We don't have TIME to nationalize all the industry!

It seems to me the choice has already been made.
They are not at a turning point. They are doing a continuance of the last 4 years. Denial of facts, spreading of lies and conspiracy theories, fear mongering, inciting of violence, funnelling money to D Trump... and removal of anyone that doesn't tow this line.

I have never said nor implied that. I also do not visit those websites.

As one who before Covid traveled 90,000 miles a year in Europe and the Middle East. I would have to respectfully disagree.
