Wow! I am seriously betting that he is a closet homosexual. Such extreme homophobia is often tied to latent homosexuality. The least gay people tend to be those that have a live and let live attitude in my experience.

Actually, studies have shown that in people with latent same sex attraction who have been raised in a very anti-gay environment, the same sex attraction often manifests as an extreme hatred of homosexuality. It's basically the person's desire to hide their own latent homosexuality causes them to over-correct, as it were, and so extremely denounce homosexuality out of fear that their own homosexual tendencies will be exposed.
