Well, it is more or less possible. These tongues are not like Klingon. They are not as developed. You can learn grammar and such, but the dictionaries are a bit limited.
As for the films, yes, the Elvish was more or less correct. It was the movies themselves that were not so much correct. Many mistakes.

This is true. I have taken three years of Spanish and can not speak it nearly as well as those of my friends who live on dairies and talk with the Hispanic workers. I know that is not total emersion, but it is akin to it.

*Nods* I had 4 years of Spanish at the high school level before coming here to Spain and I've definitely improved some while I'm here, particularly in my comfort speaking the language with native speakers.

Me too. Not that I really have the time or memory space right now for a 4th language. I've already got my head crammed with English, Spanish, and Latin.

Wow. I've occasionally dreamt in Spanish but that's the only language I've dreamt in other than my native language.
