  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know some words are the same in both Languages.
some words are Quenya. but more words and grammar are may be sindarin. because i know quenya grammer. and i am going on learning Quenya.

ammen meldonya/meldenya! (hello my friend(to male/to female)

essenya Tarık (may name is tarık) or essenya na Tarık(more grammatical, na= is, am) or im/inye na tarık! (i am tarık)

***you cant say "essen" , because "esse" isnt a verb. when a word is a verb and ending with "-n" , it's means that 1.person sing.(i) made or makeing this action. ending with "-n" means "I", not my! if you wanna to say "my name", you can say ;

my name : esse+nya= essenya , essenya na Tarık na=am,is , nar=are
your name: esse+lya=esselya. esselya na Lycana

guet= speak, say

quet+a+n=quetan : i am speaking (continious)
quet+ne+n=quenten(nor quetnen) : i spoke (past)

quet+uva+n=quetuvan :i will speak (future)

Polin queta Quenyallo anat Umin queta Sindarin!

i cab speak quenya language but i dont speak sindarin!

note: i am not sure that "ammen" is a quenya word, may be it is Sindarin. because there isnt another word meaning "hello".

Is this Quenya? I recognize some of the words as Quenya, but some of it looks strange. Where is your source, or is this your own work?

I see. Why are there circumflexes above so many letters?
I was wondering the same thing. The circumflexes make the writing look more Adunaic/Numenorean than Quenya or Sindarin, which use accent marks and umlauts (those cute horizontal colons over letters).

Mae Govannen, tarikaral - you are most welcome!! :wave:
"ammen" is a sindarin word which means us - it was used in the movie The Two Towers, when Arwen comes to Aragorn in a dream/ vision and he is not sure what he should do. She says:
Ae ú-esteliach nad, estelio han. Estelio ammen. *If you trust nothing else, trust this, trust us.*

That's beautiful, tarikaral! And you can tell your friend I said so! :)

Actually, this kind of thing does fill a subtle gap in LOTR; Tolkien was not known for portraying love and desire. Faramir and Eowyn get their due as lovers (I greatly regret that that love story was not shown in the movie!), but I've often wished we read more of Aragorn and Arwen's love than we find in Tolkien's Appendix. Aragorn's boldness that led him to court a High Elven Princess, Arwen's deep desire that leads her to abandon her Elven immortality--these are worth their own epic.
