*laughs* I know why. You assumed that because you know where I live. I am American. But I have strong German heritage. At least, that is what I am blaming my lack of singing ability on. Maybe it is something else, but for now, this excuse will do.tindomerel said:Ah. My apologies... I don't know why but I assumed you're American.
German heritage... neat! I guess you could say I have Scottish heritage, since there is a lot of Scottish blood on my Dad's side of the family (and a little on my mother's too) but I'm pretty much American. My dad's sister visits Scotland a lot, though, since that's where her husband was from.morvaltur said:*laughs* I know why. You assumed that because you know where I live. I am American. Well, my heritage is Danish, several generations back. Gotta love those Vikings!tindomerel said:German heritage... neat! I guess you could say I have Scottish heritage, since there is a lot of Scottish blood on my Dad's side of the family (and a little on my mother's too)...
Returned to where?jochanaan said:Well, at least my avatar photo is still there. Yes, that's me! Playing flute on Denver's Sixteenth Street Mall.
Edit: What's this? My character just returned!
Not doing any translation now but I am halfway to my goal of a username change. Only 7000 more blessings to go... and of course, both of the options for my new username are from the Silmarillion as my current one is.morvaltur said:By the Valar, they are back! Amazing. I am not quite sure I like this new background...
So how are you all doing with translations?
What, may I ask, are your options?tindomerel said:Not doing any translation now but I am halfway to my goal of a username change. Only 7000 more blessings to go... and of course, both of the options for my new username are from the Silmarillion as my current one is.
Why do you not do something custom? You know, something that you decide upon and translate. It makes it more original. Not that there is a problem with using existing names. I went by Orome for a while before the Morvaltur name was brought into existance.tindomerel said:I'm thinking either Laurelin or Nienna.
I'll think about it, and perhaps I'll take you up on the offer, but I think I really like those two. I'm leaning toward Laurelin at the moment just because the meaning of the name seems to fit my love of singing.morvaltur said:Why do you not do something custom? If you have an English equivalent that you want to translate into Quenya or Sindarin, I would be glad to offer assistance with the translation.
