The more I learn about and hear Walz, the more I like him. I am watching the Philadelphia rally now.
Do no harm turned out to be an important priority. Many on the left really like him and weren't at all happy with Shapiro. We need everyone to come out. We cannot lose another election where the left wasn't excited enough to vote.

Yeah, Shapiro’s being a Zionist was a giant drawback with the young’uns and others opposed to the Gaza genocide. Walz is a great choice.

I like Beshear as well but it would be detrimental to Kentucky to lose him.

Wow! First night of the DNC was long but wonderful.
Biden knocked it out of the park as he ended his speech with , "America, America, I gave my best to you! "

AOC was great. Jasmine Crockett was great. Loved this from her:

7 Best Zingers At Trump That Brought Down The House At Democratic Convention “America, looking at the two choices before you, who would you hire: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris?” she asked the crowd. “Kamala Harris has a resume. Donald Trump has a rap sheet. She presides over the Senate, while he keeps our national secrets next to his thinking chair.”

Well, the Obamas were great and so was Oprah and Doug Emhoff, Bill Clinton has slowed down a lot but still has wit (and he is younger than Trump), and Hillary was great.
The roll call was fun to watch.

We hear so much negatvie about the economy on the right, but it IS really good considering that inflation was a global issue.

In summary terms the economy looks good. I think many younger people are reacting to the fact that they find it hard to afford moving out on their own. Housing availability and cost need to be dealt with. That's not a problem that the Federal government can solve, but there may be things that could help.

I read Richardson on Substack every day.
Check The Status Kou on Substack. The author is Jay Kou. He pointed out that 12 of the last 15 polls in PA have GOP ties and are paying for them. The flood of polls were to be expected.

I don't think many polls are getting the 18 - 30 crowd.

It is what it is.

It is a snapshot of America and it is not pretty. The campaign full of hate is what got the win. I fear for democracy and decency.
May God protect us.

It’s a sad day for America. I fear that Donald is correct that our great country is in decline.

Anyway, I wonder how the coming administration will respond to BRICS.

Kamala Harris's speech was wonderful. She showed way more class than the other side.
Some on the right are trying to forget that Trump never conceded and that there was not a peaceful transfer of power.

Really worrying thing is, of course, not Donald Trump, but the fact that a majority of Americans actually voted for him. I cannot speak for other countries, but here in Quebec where I live, there's not a soul I know who is not utterly mystified that such a person was elected President.

Twice no less.
