In Exodus 25, what really caught my attention is verses 1 and 2. God is saying that only those who give an offering from their heart will He accept, isn't He?

1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

Seems that way. We're supposed to delight in the Lord and in the works we're to do for Him...

Job 22:26 Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God

Psalm 37: 4 Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart

Verse 3 really caught my attention....God is calling some "wise-hearted" and these are who He filled with the "spirit of wisdom".....i'm taking this to mean that they had a "heart" for His wisdom, and HIM before he filled them with His spirit of wisdom....that's deeeeep.

verse 3: And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Ok, there are TWO offerings.....the things burned outside the camp are a sin offering....but the offering in verse 13.....what is that?

13 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

14 But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.

Today's chapter is Genesis 30. Here's a link: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+30&version=NIV

Reading all the details in the law always amazes me how easy and simple salvation is for us now. The Israelites had to do all this to be God's chosen people... and all we have to do is believe and be baptized? Wow.

Yes, i'm thankful for His grace.

This verse caught my attention....God is telling Moses that He will meet with him here....and burning incense is seeming to be for a different purpose than a sin offering...

6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

and burning incense is seeming to be for a different purpose than a sin offering...

I think the burning incense is kind of a making things special for God thing. Like the same reason one might want a church to be beautiful, or dress up to go to mass. The idea that the best should be given in the presence of God.

Yes, apparently it represents a good thing, and very different from the sin sacrifices. i did a search and came across this verse in Psalm, one that i've seen before:

"Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice."
— Psalm 141:2

It was in this article with an interesting explanation of incense and how it ties into something that is "sweet", and prayer is described this way. It is very dear to God's heart.
