See, I keep gettin' confused here...Moses is doing all of this as God commands...and God seems pretty mad but it's GOD that is making Pharoah be stubborn...so why would God make Pharoah stubborn then get upset?

Could you imagine that many locusts? To be so many, the ground loox black? That would be freaky...

Jimmy, Pharoah's heart was never going to be turned toward God, it was set on things of this world. IMO, Pharaoh's hardened his heart.
Here's a commentary on the subject and may shed some light on it for you and others....
Exodus 7:13 Commentaries: Yet Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.
Hope this helps.

Excellent commentary. Yes, it was more like God permitted Pharaoh to harden his own heart (the fact that Pharaoh kept saying in essence, ok your God wins, and i'm sorry i have sinned, but he didn't mean it, indicates deep down he didn't give a hoot about God and took God for a fool)

I thought God was hardening Pharaoh's heart only at specific times (for example when Moses would approach Pharaoh) to test Moses and to make a dramatic point. If Pharaoh's heart was continuously hardened God would not have said repeatedly that he would again make him stubborn.

What I'm getting at is that there were times when Pharaoh regretted his sins, showing softening, but he never firmly held onto it, and then God would make him stubborn again to ensure his punishment when he told Moses no.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around it to make sense of it, but that's what it seems to me...

Thanx bcmom, I think I'm understanding that better now...sorry for my absense...

What an image...could you seriously imagine seeing this done? To actually watch these waters split? Would just blow the mind...

I feel sorry for the horses that died...

i'm amazed at Moses....can you imagine actually being in his shoes, standing there as God mooooooves those waters?

This video....the actor's face, just reflects what my own would be like if i had actually seen that happen:

Moses and the Israelites are there, trapped at the waters edge, with the Pharaoh's army closing in behind them, and then it happens. God mooooooves as only He can. The waters begin parting.

The part that caught my attention was that the Egyptians and the Israelites were all on the sea floor together, one fleeing, the other chasing, but the sea only turned to turmoil behind the Israelites, swallowing up the Egyptian soldiers.

It's incredible that the waters were parted. It's even more incredible that they were parted in one place and raging back together in another, all the while the Israelites were safe and sound. Love it.:cheer:

Your welcome Jimmy, glad it helped :)

I live by the ocean and it's extraordinary to imagine it being divided and walking on the ocean floor, with a wall of water being held back on either side of me and then for it to close in on my pursuers, my enemies. What a humbling an experience that must have been!

it's a celebration that God saved them, and a remembrance to be spoken from one generation to the next. After all that the Pharaoh and the army had seen, the STILL pursued Moses and the Israelites to destroy them. It is written that the pit an evil man digs, he will fall in it himself. The destruction they meant for God's people they swallowed themselves.

i'm thinkin' maybe that maybe their history was "sung" sorta'.....maybe not in a way that we think of "songs" in modern times, but as a way to pass on history from one generation to the next....

...actually, the more i think of it, the more it seems that they were "worshiping" God with these songs....look at verse 1:

"Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, "
