  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Chapter-A-Day thread.

God left Paul with a thorn in his side.

Was it a literal thorn though or something symbolic?

I really liked this chapter...kinda like a prequel to the Prodigal Son....we have Jacob freaking out, figuring Esau is gonna lay the smack down on him...and it was totally different...

Esau was thrilled as could be to see his bro...like a mini family reunion...but I can understand Jacob...probably figured since he got the birthright and blessing, that Esau was ready to pound him...but loox like Esau chilled out and got over it...

Too cool...

This chapter reading stuff is cool...feels like I'm watching an episode nightly of my fav tv show lol...

Genesis 33:

I'm thinkin' it's by God's grace alone that Esau met up with Jacob the way he did....it is written that ye will find favor even with your enemies......and if God had NOT intervened, Esau would'a prob'ly put a hurtin' on Jacob...only God could've changed his heart....for all intents and purposes, Esau considered Jacob an enemy and he despised him, wanting to kill him.....God gave Jacob favor, even with Esau.

Wow, talk about adding injury to insult...to get circumcised as a grown man, how in the world would THAT work? Probably no Advil or Orejel to kill the pain...YIKES....being a guy and thinking of this makes me cringe...

Let's move onto the next chapter LOL...

Whoa, Dinah was raped......then the guy that rapes her wants to marry her.....and he and all the men unsuspectingly get circumcised, and while they're weak and in pain, they are all killed and the city is looted....

seems like this is a judgement of sorts on them?

This commentary is really helpful.....it really gives clarity about Dinah going unattended into a strange city and how it appeared to them that she was loose or a prostitute even. Her family should've never allowed her to do this...

and i had not thought that the murdering of the men dishonored and disgraced God's covenant of circumcision....

great commentary, thank you.
