Wow, so Jacob hooks up with 2 of his Cousins?

Was pretty rotten how Uncle Laban was gettin' more work outta Jacob though...

And ya know, even nowadays, some women feel that by having kids, their husbands will love them more...so it's not a new thing...

Yeah Uncle Laban was a shy one! It's just a good thing for Jacob that Rachel didn't have any other sisters so he might have been working on the Uncle Laban's farm until he was a ripe old man. As is, Uncle Laban got 14 years of work of him!

I liked how Jacob got back at Laban with the spotted/streaked animals...pretty slick...

wow, in Chapter 30, doesn't this seem reeeeally familiar...it's like a repeat of Sarah with Abraham.....Rachel gives Bilhah her handmaid to Jacob as his wife....

I wonder how common of a practice this was in biblical times; giving your husband your servant so you could have children. The drive to give our husbands sons drive some of us women bonkers (okay that was very unPC of me but true).

Wow, what a way to set up a truce...pretty detailed...nowadays, just a paper form, and signatures...

And ya know, I never realized 'period' was in the Bible until reading verse 35 that Rachel mentions her period...what a trip...so, yet, I continue to learn something new lol...

Laban thought he was 'the man'....he was the Ric Flair in the day, woooooooooooooo! But he finally got dethroned so to speak by the up and coming contender for the championship belt lol...

...it's interesting that God "spoke" to Jacob and that God had been "watching" the entire scenario unfold, and then, in HIs own timing, prompted Jacob to move on.....kinda' like God's hand was on Jacob.....

....this is hilarious....vs 37....Jacob uses the word "stuff" LOVE that....

it seems laban meant to do Jacob harm if he would've stayed...and only restrained himself when he caught up with Jacob because of what God said to him...and even then. Laban had some choice words for Jacob, didn't he. It seems he was FURIOUS that Jacob out-smarted him and left.....he was quite a character....

Thank God Jacob left when he did.

Remember in the dream, God told Laban not to say anything to Jacob, good or bad...but yet Laban spoke to Jacob but nothing happened to Laban?

I'm not sure....however, in the dream, God didn't say if you speak this way or that way, then this will happen...He just said not to talk to Jacob...
