Deuteronomy 12 - David Guzik Commentary on the Bible
"a. And there you shall go: Worship was not left to the opinion or whim of the individual Israelite. They had to worship God at His prescribed place, and among other worshippers of God. Worship is not a “do as you please” or a “Lone Ranger” activity."
This really resonates with me. I have stopped going to church for various reasons but, when I stand before God on Judgement Day, none of them will be good reasons. I need to start attending church, while we still have godly churches to attend in my town.
I enjoy David Guzik's commentaries more than the others that I've read, he really makes me think.
THIS is EXCELLENT. Especially where it says:
And there you shall go: Worship was not left to the opinion or whim of the individual Israelite. They had to worship God at His prescribed place, and among other worshippers of God. Worship is not a “do as you please” or a “Lone Ranger” activity."
Amen!
He DOES have good commentaries, thank you for posting it.
