Yes! I was noticing in particular the last few days, as i was like blah blah blah in the morning and i didn't FEEL like reading the Bible, then i prayed about it, grumpily opened the BIble and as i started reading, the words, meanings, and nuances just POPPED OUT at me hahaaaa

I wonder about the Lords prophecy to Rebekah regarding her unborn sons in Genesis 25:23 (NIV)
Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you will be separated;
one people will be stronger than the other,
and the older will serve the younger.
Clearly it's saying Jacob will rule over Esau. Verses 29-35 show that Jacob is stronger willed and more skilled in deception than Esau and that he will rule over him. But I wonder in what other ways will Jacob rule over his brother and be stronger than his brother? Surely it won't just be in deception?!

Hello! I'm back to life. I got pretty sick Thursday and hadn't been up for anything since. Thanks very much, BCMom, for keeping this going when I was gone. I prayed that would happen!
And Jimmy, I know what she means. Some people naturally have the gift of explaining themselves and saying things in a clever way. You have that.
I just read Genesis 25, and was surprised. I didn't realize Abraham had another wife other than Sarah!
And it is now March 16th. Today's chapter is Genesis 26th. Genesis 26 NIV - Isaac and Abimelek - Now there was a - Bible Gateway

So was Judith and Esau the source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah? Heh, sounds like my kid brother and his wife lol...
So basically it loox like Isaac got along well here, had no problems and even made alot of money...and was respectful with others, other than the lie in the beginning...but, seems he was just a bit freaked out and didn't wanna get killed cause his wife was pretty...
No wonder though that King Abi got bothered though...what if one of his people messed with Rebekah, that would have been messed up for them...but at least the King was cool about it all...
Notice back in the day, God 'spoke' audibly alot? But nowadays He doesn't? Is it now He doesn't because we now have the Holy Spirit that speaks to us from within'?

I also noticed that God spoke out loud back in Biblical times but I have a different theory on why He doesn't now... Back in the day, there was less sin, I think His voice could be heard more because He could be present more in the world. As the world gets more infested with sin, He has to leave it and He voice is heard less. If you notice, at first, when there was no sin, God walked with man. Then when there was little sin, He walked with a few men. Then, as sin has spread, now it's only His voice that can be heard. He no longer walks with man. As we move on, His voice will only be able to be heard through the Holy Spirit.
