  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Let's look at the word "treason". This is what happened when there was one that wanted to be as the Most High God. That is treason. That, because of where the treason originated, and the one that committed it had no "tempter", was an abominably unforgiveable act/intention, that there is no remedy for against the wrath of God towards that one that commited such a treason.

It was treacherous. Treason. Incurring the wrath of God.

By your understanding why then does he bring his wrath against any man since all are tempted....Also the scripture says Eve was decieved but Adam just took it and ate. Hell is for all ungodly tempted or not....
Maybe Im not seeing what your saying?

perhaps yer not, brother.

I'm speaking of a "high treason" of sorts, that was in heavenly places where it was committed. Where there is NO Hope of a Savior to atone for the one who committed it, ever. This one is DOOMED fer-ever n' ever. There is NO Remedy.

I see...of course I see God giving all that chance because I dont see that one or that event in the same way.

Brinny I think there is alway a chance for repentance. But if you were a king like Jeroboam and you led a whole nation against God. And led them to worship two golden calves, instead the Lord God of Israel. Then that is a very serious sin indeed.

I dont really like the word treason. But if a person is a Christian and by your behaviour to lead then astray, then you are a wolf stealing Gods sheep. I think that leading believers astray is a serious sin.

Brinny the remedy would be to try to undo the damage you have done.

Jeroboam could have smashed the golden calves taken Israel back to God.

1 Kings Chapter 17

This is a truely wondful chapter about the profit Eiljah.

Elijah tells Ahab that there will be a drought for 3 years.

A poor widow gave Elijah food. Her last bit from a barrel of meal.

And a tiny bit from a cruse of oil.

For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until that day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
Verse 14

That was one of my favourite stories as a child. The poor widow trusted in God. Elijah did this miracle through the power of God. The oil and the barrel of mean did not run out until the drought was over.

And for good measure Elijah brought her son back to life, after her son had died.
Verse 22

What a truly wonderful chapter this is from the Holy Bible.

Ah yes!...the glamorous life of the man of God...it would seem no one told Elijah adout the mansion and chariot he would recieve for obediance...wait he did get a mansion and a chariot just not of the dust of the earth.

Rick357,

Are you referring to the fact that Elijah did not die ?
Elijah was taken up to heaven in a chariot.

Behold there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a wirlwind into heaven.
2 Kings 2 verse 11

My main point was about the hard living Elijah did on this side of heaven...but the last point was to say that many today seek the wealth of this passing world but Elijah found an eternal wealth.

1 Kings Chapter 18

Obadiah was an adviser to Ahab. He saved 100 prophets from Jezabel by hiding them in a cave and feeding them. Obadiah brought Ahab to meet Elijah.

Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to see whose god could set fire to a sacrifice on an altar.

Baal did nothing. But when Elijah called on God, the fire was so fierce that it burnt the sacrifice, the altar stones, and the water that Elijah had poured over the altar.

The people fell on their faces and said THE LORD, HE IS THE GOD (verse 39).

Eight hundred and fifty prophets of Baal were gathered for the challenge (verse 19).

Elijah told the people to kill all the prophets of Baal, and the people slew them (verse 40).

Elijah saw a cloud the size of a man's over the sea.

God sent Elijah to Ahab to warn about the coming storm (verse 44)

Ahab rode in his chariot to Jezreel. But with God's help Elijah out ran the chariot (verse 46)

Love the showdown at Carmel...realy love how Elijah goes the extra mile to remove all doubt that it could be a trick...then God goes extra and burns even the alter....such an event ...such a spectacle...it certainly whipped those there into a frenzy....yet when the fire from God fell on Jesus and judged him with all severity for our sins we hear Elijah once more...

*[[1 Kings 18:21]]

We may lose sight of the why of what God is doing in us...but he does not

Elijah sat under a juniper tree, and prayed to die (verse 4).

Elijah got discouraged hiding for his life from Jesebel. He wanted to give up.

But God sent an angel to feed Elijah, and this encouraged Elijah.

God had great plans for Elijah, although Elijah did not know this at the time.

1 Kings Chapter 21

Todays story is Ahab covets Naboth's vineyard

Naboth had a vineyard next to the kings palace (verse 1)

Ahab wanted the vineyard for a garden. Ahab offered to buy it or give Naboth a better vineyard somewhere else (verse 2)

When Naboth said no, Ahab went to bed and refused to eat, such was his anger (verse 4)

Jezebel the wife of Ahab hatched a complicated plan to get Naboth stoned for blasphemy (verse 10)

So King Ahab got the vineyard that he wanted (verse 16)

And of Jezebel also spake the Lord saying, The dogs shall eat Jexebel by the walls of Jezreel (verse 23).
