Amen, Amen. It's arguably one of the most important faith building books considering the things it talks about and what has happened in history to align perfectly with what he said.
I orefer the Gospels, myself. I guess I'm just a New Testament kinda guy. Especially when the book being hyped as "faith building" is rife with falsehoods.

Yrp. And seeing that largish chunks of its content are glaringly untrue, there's no particular reason to make any effort to "handle" them.
The "book" you are referring to is not a single work, but a collection of works written centuries apart. So one sections error has no bearing on another sections value. Most certainly in the case of what Jude quotes as prophecy.

Your right. It’s undeniable that the New Testament writers were familiar with the book of the watchers (the first 36 chapters of 1 Enoch) for Jude even quotes it. Peter, John, and even Paul allude to the book of the watchers. Even if it’s not inspired then it has many correct oral traditions from Enoch in it.

The sun traveling north to reach its "portal" in the east so as to rise every morning is a good 'un. "Enoch" claims a "holy angel" imparted that bit of lunacy.

THE BOOK OF THE COURSES OF THE HEAVENLY LUMINARIES
(LXXII-LXXXII.)

LXXII. The Sun.

CHAPTER LXXII.

5. The chariot on which he ascends, the wind drives, and the sun goes down from the heaven and returns through the north in order to reach the east, and is so guided that he comes to the appropriate (lit. 'that') portal and shines in the face of the heaven. 6. In this way he rises in the first month in the great portal, which is the fourth ⌈those six portals in the cast⌉.

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared A Chariot Of Fire, and Horses Of Fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

The sun doesn't go north, in a chariot or any other way. It also doesn't go in and out of doors. It's plainly visible at alll times. The stuff from Enoch is patent hogwash, made-up, untrue, a lie. Contrary to fact. False. Codswallop. Fiction. Fantasy.

I personally don’t see the need for the book of Enoch, and when I tried to read it, it didn’t come across as inspired - neither did Jasper and Jubilees, so I just stay away

I notice a trend in some people that read Enoch - their doctrine starts centering around the book of Enoch, instead of the Torah(Law) & the Prophets.

it didn’t come across as inspired

That's because it isn't.

At least not by the living God, nor by His Holy Spirit.

The spiritual realm can not be seen with the natural eye but it's there:

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, Open His Eyes, that He May See. And the LORD Opened The Eyes Of The Young Man; And He Saw: And, Behold, The Mountain Was Full Of Horses And Chariots Of Fire Round About Elisha

I have noted that as well. I think that as Christians, our doctrine should center on the Gospel.

The sun goes north, does it? And goes in one door and out another? Sorry, mate, but "Enoch" is a tissue of lies. Pure poison. The bits mentioned in the New Testament are the only parts I consider non-toxic.

Ah, so he behavior of the sun imagined by the "angel" in "Enoch" was how it behaves in the spiritual realm. Got it! So if the "angel" had said that the sun was drawn across the sky by a herd of guinea pigs, and that it traveled south, entered a door, stopped for lunch, then headed back east by way of Albuquerque, and emerged from a door directly above Riga, Latvia, we could believe it because "The spiritual realm can not be seen with the natural eye". Translated, it means that any falsehood can be swallowed whole if we only spiritualize it. The moon is made of Havarti cheese in the spiritual realm. The stars travel across the sky on motorcycles all night and dance quadrilles all day in the spiritual realm. See how versatile this can be?

No, the fact is that the earth orbits around the sun, and the sun orbits around some other, larger, celestial mass, all of which orbits around some galactic barycenter, following the rules that God laid down when He designed the whole thing. The "angel" of "Enoch" didn't know those rules, or how anything really worked, so he made up a Rube Goldberg-looking phony explanation of how it all worked based on his perspective solidly attached to terra firma.

If I used the same tactics that you are using to criticize and belittle Anglicism I would get in trouble.
