:pink: :( :o What do you think has happened to it?
Why is an awesome God dwelling ark almost forgotten and hardly mentioned in the Bible when one would expect it to be?!
Im fascinated by it, im reading an awesome book at the moment about it, but i wonder if anyone else has a thought as it's whereabouts?

Doesn't Revelation talk about the ark of the covenant having been taken back to heaven after Christ died for us? Somehow I think I remember that, but am not sure. I agree with flyfishing and personally don't think the ark is needed now under the new covenant between God and his people.

Heard something bout it being found in a cave under the site of the cross. Said there was a crack made by an earthquake right under the cross where blood driped down and onto the mercy seat of the ark.

But thats just what some folks have said. I haven't seen it, but think it is prolly around here. That in revalation showed the ark in the temple of God by the way.

So ummm yeah, I dont know lol.

 Hey there.
from what i can gather, the Ark has been swallowed up by the earth and will stay there until Jesus returns. Im now interested in where the magic book once owned by King Solomon is!. Apparently he raised demons to help build his temple! lol. No, on second thoughts i don't want to know what's happened to that. Im to much of a scardy cat!

(Rev 11:19) And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Notice, when the doors are opened, the Ark is already inside.

Some believe it was taken with Elijah, but that is mere opinion.

In any case, only a Levitical Priest may "handle" it, and then only by carrying it with two staves through the "holes" provided for it.

Mankind corrupts everything he touches, so I would not recommend looking for it. See 1 Sam. 5:1-5. 2 Sam. 6:1-7.

Just curious, where did you here of a magic book of Solomon, and raising up demons to build the Temple?

it's in Etheopia. The Jews keep trying to get it back but the Etheopian Orthodox wont let them have it. The last time that the Jews tried to get it they got caught in A giant sand storm and many of them died.

If I'm not too badly mistaken, I personally think we forget that much of the items listed in the O.T. were Shadows and Patterns of the things which already existed around God's Throne. I see a parallel connecting Jesus and the Ark. The Ark was the only O.T. thing able to keep God's Word (The Tables of Stone), Jesus kept all words which came by way of the Father. The Ark held Daily Bread (Manna), Jesus is our daily bread spiritually and provides our daily bread physically. The Ark held restored life, (Aaron's Rod) Jesus gives resurrected eternal glorified life to those who have faith in Him.

I'm with Flyfishing, I look for my Ark in the person of the Lord Jesus. To the Christian, it should not make any difference wheither the Ark (the piece of furniture) is located or not. What can it give to the Christian, that he does not already possess in Christ Jesus?

Also with the movie out, "The Passion of Christ", we could include the parallel of the Life Blood being broken and spilled out upon the O.T. Ark and Jesus, before our Father God.

We serve the greatest Lord who can save to the upmost.
Where is the O.T. Ark? A good question.

Blessings
Ken

Inside the ark were three articles that represented the sins of Israel. The budding rod of Aaron that showed Israel's rejection of God's leadership. The ten commandments that showed rejection of God's law, and the cup of manna that represented rejection of God's provision.
The two angels on the lid looked down at the sins of Israel in representation of God's judgment. When the priests would offer the innocent blood of the sacrificed life and sprinkle the ark with it till it was covered in blood, the angels would not see the sins of Israel, but the innocent blood, as it covered the lid. We are covered by the innocent blood of Jesus and God does not see our sins.

The ark of the covenant was not God, but God was within the ark. For this reason, I see a connection Mary and the ark of the covenant. Mary held God within her, just as the ark had done before. Jesus is the Word, and our daily bread, and Mary held him within her in the womb. When the ark of the covenant came to David, he said "Who am I, that the ark of the covenant should come to me?" And when Mary went to visit Elizabeth, she said "Who am I, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" I think that's an interesting parralell.
I also note that the apostles were reluctant to drink the blood of Christ, because drinking blood would take them out of the covenant. And indeed it did. Jesus said "This is the cup of my blood. The blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven." So we have a new covenant, and a new ark of the covenant, in Mary, who is not lost but found, and we all have access to her in heaven. I know this may be way too Catholic for a lot of you, but those are my thoughts on the issue. As far as the physical ark in the OT, it would be neat to find, but I don't think God dwells within it anymore, because there is a new covenant.

God's chosen people only has access to heaven . Remember Mary needed a savior as well just like those whom God had chosen before the foundation of the world. So Mary is in no way a key to heaven. She wasn't part of the decision on whom would the elect be before the earth was created.

This isn't a forum for debate, so I'll just clarify my statements. I didn't say Mary was a key to heaven. I meant that that the ark of the covenant was a prefigurement of Mary, because God dwelled within Mary in the womb just as he had dwelled within the tent in the OT. If you'd like to have a discussion on the role of Mary and/or predestination, pm me or maybe we could join a thread or start our own on IDD.
